I mean I didn't like it. Thought the lead character was intensely annoying and the whole show was cliched and unbelievable.
I know you have to suspend disbelief with these types of show but this was just too much. Watched the first episode and that was it. |

I am watching Rizzoli and Isles (on Anytime) and so far I am not really that impressed but I am only 20 minutes in, so I will give it a bit more of a go but my mind is already wandering and I am finding the characters flat and dull and the story predictable and dull. I will still watch a couple more episodes but it does seem to be on a bad start for me already. Others may love it but so far it isn't doing much for me. |

I actually only got to know about this show thanks to the 'recommendations bar' on my Virgin Media Tivo
![]() I might not have even been that interested in it had I not noticed that Sasha Alexander was in it ![]() Starts this Tuesday at 10pm on Alibi. |

Edit: Does look like the Anytime episode and Tuesday's episode are the same, I guess the synopsis being so vague had got me wondering

I'm at a US pace with this show and I have to say - I love it. If you want a gritty crime show, then look elsewhere. Rizolli & Isles is not about that. That may be how the books started but the show is so much more than that. It's a dash of desperate housewives with a sprinkle of CSI. But really the core ingredient is originality because there aren't really any shows like it (Believe me I watch A LOT of crime shows...). Yes it can be serious, there are some really sad episodes and some extremely shocking crimes to boot. But the core of the show is about friendship and family and what makes it great is Angie Harmon's and Sasha Alexanders chemistry, and the light hearted funny scenes that honestly have me laughing every week.
For me, its the funny crime shows that keep me watching. There's only so much death and darkness you can watch. So shows like NCIS and R&I, which balance the light and the dark are so much more appealing. The characters are extremely well developed (even if you can't tell that from the first ep) and the writing good enough to make you care about them. Honestly, if your not fussed because its too light then fair enough. But if you like the more rounded crime shows then give it a chance. You honestly won't be disappointed. It gets better and better as the show goes on. There IS a reason its the US' highest rated cable show. It's THAT good. Trust me

Well i've just watched it and i'm very happy to say that I really enjoyed it. I did laugh out loud at one scene - i'll spoiler it, but it's not really giving anything away.
Spoiler
Good chemistry between the two leads and a good case to start off with as well. Definitely sticking with this one. Just glad it didn't turn out to be another 'Body of Proof'. |

I don't have alibi at the moment unfortunately, so I haven't been able to catch it. But like I said I'm at US pace so I've seen every episode. (FYI last night was R&I summer finale - they are having a few more eps in a few months because it was so successful - and it was SO good! Hilarious yet so intense I was hiding behind my hands. Basically an ep that demonstrated everything that R&I is about!).
Anyway gone off on a tangent. My point is, one of my best friends is also a big fan, and she does have alibi. So last night she sat down to watch the pilot on anytime - and was very shocked to discover some scenes missing! Which means alibi have edited the pilot for some reason. I'm not sure why they would do this, or whether they plan on doing this for the rest of the series. But it seems very very strange to me. From what she said, the scene they cut are a few funny ones and/or related to Jane's family. I'm hoping that this was a one time thing (Maybe because the pilot was slightly too long etc) because honestly, the show would not make any sense if they cut out the funny scenes. As the funny scenes usually lead to a break in a case and/or some sort of important plot development. It would obviously also ruin the show! Very very strange. |

For those who are interested I've set up two threads, one for UK pace and one for US pace (for the impatient people like me :P )

From the sound of it, Rizzoli and Isles seems really good but I don't have Alibi
so I was wondering if you think it might get bought by channel 5 or a freeview channel ?
