I can't get all the posts to reprint, but the exchange about Gavin's "pen"
reported a few posts back by KHC22 made me cry with laughter. I think ( hope0 this is going to be an ongoing joke throughout the series, or at least for as long as Gavin can keep going... and yes, I do know that was a double entendre |

This gets my vote for today, from the launch show discussion thread, page 25: Quote:
Haven't got time to read it all back but have one observation; having had my first good look at Jared I couldn't help but think that they've taken on Anton's teenaged son!

From the Rated / slated thread Quote:
Slated - Tess's Tower if it has replaced the Tesspit for when the couples are scored? I know the Tesspit was tacky looking, but it's so familiar. Quote:
It'll be a long walk for some of the celebs, especially after a particularly energetic routine.
Perhaps they'll have to install a Stannah stair lift (other stair lifts are available). |

My nomination for today: Quote:
I unappreciate the BBC's cowardice in not extending the Public Humiliation of Pro's to its logical conclusion.
It's not good enough to just cull Mr Cutler, make him choreograph a load of stuff for his replacements, then sit him in the front row and have Brucie tell him how good he used to be at his ex-job. Or to make Ian and Darren do whatever it was they were up to. Instead of all the announcements in June, they should simply have lined up all the axed pro's with the others during the pairing/coupling (don't start that again) bit and then just left them standing round at the end. THEN give then 5 minutes to decide whether they want to be one of the SooperDooperTroopers or not. Is it too late to rant about the SooperTroopers not having their full names announced? Might have been because Brucie couldn't manage the Polish one without his dentures flying across the floor. Or the others for that matter. End of mini-rant. For today. Still catching up. |

I'd like to nominate this late runner from the Will Alesha Speak Proper This Time thread. Quote:
She just repeats what Len says anyway, so no wonder she has a problem with her grammar.
Made me laugh because it manages to get an amazing number of grievances into very few words. |

My nomination (which is honestly from today and not at all from yesterday...) from the non-appreciation thread: Quote:
Absolutely. Series 13 will both feature and not feature a dance-off which will count both only for the first few weeks and also right up to the quarter final. Judges scores will count for half of a combined ranking scores system and also for nothing. The judging panel will consist of Len, Craig, Bruno, Arlene, Alesha, Karen, Camilla, Lilia, Ian, Matthew, Crazy Shirley Ballas, and JohnFromWales, but also none of them because they're all really annoying and none of them know what they're talking about. They will very strictly judge only on technique, but also take entertainment and improvement and "wow factor" into account. The contestant line-up won't have any old people in because they're bound to be good, and also nobody who's ever danced before, because they're bound to be good. Results will be announced four times, once in the main show on Saturday, once in a separate Results Show an hour later, and again on a pre-recorded Sunday Show, and then AGAIN on a live Sunday show, because a pre-recorded Sunday show is an insult to my intelligence. Anton will be fired and also kept on , but only to dance ballroom, and also with old people and also he will be given someone good, because why is Anton never given somebody good it's not FURR. Big A-List names will perform on the results shows, and also they won't, because it's a waste of money. There will be a double-elimination week and a non-elimination week and also dancers will be forced to dance on broken bones to ensure a three-person final. Bruce...well he'll probably be dead.

What the lack of a dance off might mean... Quote:
This means Ann could get to the final if Anton makes a few jokes, or Paul could get there if he magics Ola's clothes off. Whoops, she's thought of that herself already.
Well, here's hoping. |

Asking why people come on DS to complain about the BBC message boards... Quote:
Iam just wondering what the BBC has to do with DS ? This is DS and DS posters and really , in all fairness, nothing to do with BBC ,.
By all means join in on DS and have a bit of craic , but BBC issues should really stay on BBC .If you dont like the fact that Tescos have no nice cakes , there is little point in running in to Lidl and shouting about it . |

This is great from Paace's moaning (surely not) about the 'lack of footwork on the training clips' thread. Posted by molo flapian. Quote:
Due to the recession, BBC negotiated a cheaper deal with the camera crew by getting a third off. Unfortunately, the BBC thought it was a third off the price, but it turns out it's a third off the dancers ![]()

I know this isn't really within the rules, but it made me smile so I thought I'd try to sneak it in. From Monkseal's (fab) blog, during a discussion about whether Patsy might be using the series to look for a new husband, Megan comments:
The length of a Strictly series is ample time for Patsy to get married and divorced in.

Today's offering ![]() Quote:
The tears, tantrums, strops, irritation, bad jokes, bright lights, camp humour, fallings out, makings up, make-up, analysis and awful costume choices....
.......But enough of the behaviour of the DS forum, it's almost the first episode! |

Spoils the dances for me sometimes. It looks messy.
