This series if someone does a paso to any sodding Queen dirge, I will not be responsible for my actions.

I am dreading the music, dreading it
I'd make an exception for "I want to break free" in full drag, mind you. The pro could be dressed as a hoover.
I really hope we get to see this!

I'd like a guide to SCD forum language please
Olympian - Didn't win a medal (else that is the prefix)

World Champion - still didn't win an Olympic medal.

Commonwealth Medal winner - not World Champion or Olympic medalist.

British Champion - not Commonwealth, World or Olympic medal winner.
Pretty accurate!

I meant to post this yesterday from the Who is looking promising in the training videos? Thread

Tina doesn't look too bad, although not dancing in the shoes - not good, hopefully she's mastered that now. Her problem might be the 12 year old they've given her to dance with, will his mum let him stay up that late on Friday night

Vivadiva .... completely brilliant post from yesterday.

As the new series of SCD starts, I can exclusively reveal that the first show dances are all going to relate to the stars' careers, incorporating their claim to fame through the power of movement.

Tina: Tina will convey her time on Corrie- she will emerge on the stage with a visible bump, before enduring the horrors that befell her on the Street, culminating in the birth of her baby, which will be Paul Daniels...

Paul: Paul will then take to the floor and turn Ola into a rabbit, together dancing to the Nation's Favourite Hymn by Chas and Dave. The final note of rabbit will take us to Michelle...

Michelle: Michelle will convey the power struggle between herself and Beyonce, ably played by Brendan. The two will have a cat fight to the sounds of 'All the Single Ladies, cue Patsy...

Patsy: Patsy will then emerge, proclaiming her newly celibate lifestyle before running off with the lead singer of the band...

Anne: With SL still playing, Anne is going to emerge on stage. Anton will be dressed as Home Secretary Michael Howard and will show that the two were always in love...

Gavin: Gavin will then be threatened with deportation to Wales by Anne, until he proclaims his relationship with Charlotte Church made him stay in the country...

Pamela: Pamela will now emerge, offering advice to Chaz and Gav through the medium of Cha Cha Cha...

Peter: Peter will take to the floor to show off his ball skills (the ball will be played by Dom Littlewood's head)...

Goldie: Goldie will stand up for bald blokes across the land before sprouting an afro...

Felicity: The afro will then form part of Felicity's allotment. She will pull out a carrot which turns out to be Vincent with a strong fake tan and they will boogie away.

Jimi, Scott and Kara: They will play the part in an Eastenders love triangle, with love, passion and jellied eels.

Matt: Wellard will emerge which is actually Aliona in disguise. She will be the sheepdog which is required for all Blue Peter presenters. The ending will be very emotional and beautiful, with Matt walking off into the sunset with his beloved pooch by his side.

Made me laugh

No sleeps to go - unless you count having a quick siesta this afternoon or dropping off during the show.

If there is a dancer inside Paul Daniels trying to escape...How small would he have to be?

Public's thought processes (ish)

Series 1 : We need to find a winner
Series 2 : We need to find a winner who can dance
Series 3 : We need to find a male winner
Series 4 : We need to find a male winner who can dance
Series 5 onwards : Who do I want to shag?
Funny and true I think!

In response to this

Love & Romance, Sex, and Virile Men

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Considering the two shows this week, there were two performances that stood out for me. And I was asking myself what these two couples had in common.

The couples were Katya and Gavin, and Kara and Artem.

In one pair, a man is teaching a woman, and in the other pair, a woman is teaching a man. One couple was doing Ballroom, and one was doing Latin.

One woman, has the name of a cat, Katya; and one woman was dressed as a cat, a leopard, Kara.

Katya was doing Waltz, and portraying, what I wound describe as an icon of love and romance. With her long flowing hair and floaty dress she looked angelic and gorgeous. When she was talking to Tess, her face was radiant and glowing.

Kara was portraying, this week, IMO, earthy sexualised woman. She looked like the icon of a sexy bitch.

In anticipation, next week, the roles played by these two women will switch round, and hopefully, each will carry off the other role with equal effectiveness.

These are the two dimensions of the feminine psyche.

These two individual women were, in my view, the most 'feminine' of all the women on the show. By that, I mean women at the peak of their feminine attractiveness.

Their two male partners also seemed to me to be the most 'virile' of all the men on the show.

I wondered if there are any other candidates. James, Scott and Goldie, try to present tough personas, but I can't seen any of them squaring up to Gavin for toughness in a rugby match. Matt Baker is athletic, but far too nice and goody-goody.

And Ola fills out a catsuit quite well. I can still remember THAT catsuit, from years ago. But I don't think Ola quite matches the other two ladies in the romance dept.

So, to sum this up in an equation:

Angel/bitch + Virile man = Chemistry.

I wouldn't mind seeing a cage fight between Gavin and Artem.
we got this cracker from spider9:-

*waves*

hello Pamela. Shouldn't you be training?

This one:

(Although to be fair, I think it's generally overstated how much people improve over time. At very specific things maybe, but their overall standard of dancing doesn't really shift that much, especially as they keep changing disciplines every five seconds)
Because I think it's a valuable insight, which in this place is almost unique.

Discussing the demise of Ali and Brian...
otherwise I'm genuinely uninterested in whether a couple split or not - if they decide they're better off separated, then that's good enough for me.

This ain't Strictly Come Shagging, after all.
Don't go giving programming ideas to channel 5

Dear Lord , Hold the wake . They are now trying to awaken the corpses and get them back together again .

A recent favourite:

(I missed It Takes Two today - shall pass my professional gaydar over it at a later point)
...wonder if he got it from those Telegraph ads at a special price for two, or instead the Innovations catalogue where I got my Upskirtamatic®
I found it in a skip round the back of Nicole Cutler's house.

One of my favourites:

Self-same individual is also complaining that 'they could have treated their fans much better than they have', presumably because they didn't ring each one of them individually and talk them through this catastrophic news. What a pair of selfish b@stards!
Honestly, you stalk a reality TV couple for the best part of a year, buying tickets for their show and living vicariously through their conveniently publicity generating relationship for nigh upon twelve whole months and THE MINUTE they no longer have a product to promote they drop you quicker than you can wail 'did I mean nothing to you???'
Makes you wonder why you bother.....

At least the Alian fans are heartbroked over twoo wuv. Better that than the ensuing months of :

Matt & Aliona fans - He's so nice and lovely and hot and unassuming and how dare the judges vote him 3rd on the leaderboard, it's so unfair, WHY HAS HE NOT GOT three 10s yet? IT'S SO UNFAIR let's vote to spite them and SHOW THE JUDGES WHO'S BOSS. What do you mean he spent 10 years with the Ballet Rambert? Of COURSE it doesn't make any difference, they've ALL got dance experience, SHUT UP LAH LAH LAH

Kara & Artem fans - Oh my God they are so hot! I bet they are definitely donig it, but it is true love, not just Stockholm Syndrome or the equivalent of prison relationships. TRUE LOVE. And she's such an amazing dancer. Sigh, she so deserves all those 10s she's got for every single dance. Sigh, why do the public never vote for the best dancer. Sigh, why is everyone so SEXIST?!

James & Dr Pammie fans - Are James Jordan fans (nuff said)

Flavia & Jimi fans - Flavia is so owed, she's had TWO WHOLE CRAP PARTNERS IN A ROW. It's her turn to win, and it's really selfish of everyone else to get in her way by existing. She's so much more hilarious this year - think she actually spoke on It Takes Two and everything! And Jimi IS SO HOTT! He can sweat all over me any day! Phwoar! (*ovary prolapse*)

Ann & Anton fans - The public are entitled to vote for what they want, how DARE you point out they're crap and the joke got old months ago, THEY GET VOTES, how DARE you try to second-guess the public, this is an ENTERTAINMENT show. Ann is hilarious and doesn't take herself seriously! So what if she's banned wardrobe from ever making her wear a bra and refuses to do anything sexual in the dances about sex?

Scott & Natalie fans - How DARE you, Natalie is a sweetheart and so misunderstood and wouldn't at all rip out your gizzard with a corkscrew to reach week 8. She's AMAZING, so BEAUTIFUL with Ian, so misunderstood and if she was a man she'd be loved, and when she said THIS what she actually meant was THIS (Scott who now?)

Tina & Jared fans - God wants them to win

Michelle & Brendan fans - See Natalie, but a celeb

Gavin & Katya fans - Aw he is so shy and humble and awkward and gorgeous and lovely and quiet and lovely and shy and awkward and quiet and lovely and who would have thought it eh? I want to give him a big cuddle like I did my cat, except this time he wouldn't die, cause he is big and strong and manly but also so endearing and shy and humble.

Felicity & Vincent fans - She was in The Good Life you know? Sure she speaks like a two year old and dances like a dead person, but that's surely enough? NATIONAL TREASURE!

Peter & Erin fans - AUSTIN WUZZ ROBBED! AUSTIN WUZZ ROBBED! Who's this **** with Erin again? AUSTIN WUZZ ROBBED!

Patsy & Robin fans - Don't think there are any are there?
I'm not stalking Monkseal, honestly!

A crash course in how (not) to respond to compliments:

It's true smc81, it's a difficult line to draw.
1) "What, you think I'm good? Really? Aw, shucks! " = fakity, fake smug faker
2) "It was going well in training and I thought tonight was the best we'd ever performed it, so I'm glad the judges liked it." = arrogant and smug
2) "Thank you." = ungracious, unenthusiastic (and smug)
4) "Oh it was so amazing, I don't care about the marks but isn't a all wonderful?! Thank you so much judges! And my wonderful partner, and my dress is so wonderful and I'm such a huge fan of the show, this is exactly how I dreamed it!" = really, really deeply irritating.

Oh, and I don't really mind admitting geekiness on here. Considering my username, if other people don't notice I'm a bit of a languages geek, it's not going to be because I've done a really good job of hiding it.
Never missed any episode of any series, always watched this with my Gran who unfortunately died the day before this series started . So if I am good, its all down to her watching over me from the other side , she is taking this journey with me in spirit
