Charlotte Church - Back To Scratch.
She's just released the video for her new single, Back to Scratch:
http://video.uk.msn.com/watch/video/...ratch/2tmp0ja6 Her album is available for pre-order...and it's released on 25th of October: http://www.charlottechurch.co/ What do you think of the song/video? I'm looking forward to this album, sounds quite different! |

I'm in love with this song <3 I think it's going to flop badly though, because I don't think the public will 'get' it to be honest. Hope she does well, but doubt it

Ok first listen review so it could change
AWFUL. Her vocals are awful .It sounds like a song that thankfully never made Diana's album. |

I loved her last album as well. Maybe it'll grow on me.. Dont think much of the video either.

This is going to fall so far under the radar.
There's just no room for this kind of music in todays charts, it's all big vocals and big beats. It doesn't quite fit in with the indie-pop scene either. I can imagine this album might be critically well accepted though. It's intriguing by the sounds of it. |

Hm, I'm pretty underwhelmed by it if I'm honest. However, at the same time I do quite like it - I was just expecting something more. I hope it does well, it's different from most stuff out there at the moment - although that's exactly what will go against it as has already been said.
I'm looking forward to her album though, I have a good feeling about it.

As a lead single, it's very underwhelming. I like the song but if I just heard it on the radio, I wouldn't think it was Charolette Church. The video is boring and looks really cheap. It's like the same few shots on a loop. Can't imagine it making a big enough mark, especially since she's releasing in the most competitive quarter.

I think "Snow" would have been a better lead single, but after a few listens, I love it!
I hope it does well. She's one of the few artists who is actually talented and can sing. |

Never liked her voice I'm afraid and the song seems a bit generic. Hope it does well though as I do like her as a person.

The song's alright I guess, the chorus is quite theatrical I thought.
As much as I like Charlotte, I just don't think she has a strong enough pop voice. |

Hated it on first listen, but it's growing on me a bit. I highly doubt it'll be a hit. I was expecting something bigger and better. It sounds a little dated. Reminds me of something that would be on an Atomic Kitten album.

I love the song. The chorus in particular is brilliant, very Manics, melodically, imo. And Charlotte sings it great. I can't get the tune out of my head now. I hope it does well for her and I look forward to hearing her album.

First listen - meh. Promising but, considering that this is the woman who brought us "Crazy Chick" (one of the best pop songs of the previous decade), it's just not up to *scratch*.

We're actually really liking this track!
"...We feel that Church is extremely skilled to show more of her origins in this track, whilst maintaining a pop feel. We also love the accompanying video to the track which, whilst fairly low budget, remains fresh and interesting. All in all, whilst this may not be as much of a hit as 'Crazy Chick,' we applaud her for taking a risk, let's just hope it gets the recognition it deserves and doesn't simply slip under the radar..." Really didn't like it when I first heard it but it has certainly grown on me and now I really like it!
I hope it does well but I don't think it will as the general public don't seem to care if artists can actually sing anymore
