Are there any benefits in connecting the Foxsat to the Component video inputs of my Plasma set [Which i have now found] or will i get the same definition via the RGB energised Scart lead..viz.. Is HDMI only beneficial for HD progs?
Certainly our newly acquired Wii looks better on 480p than into the video socket.

I use the HDMI lead for everything, my TV upscaler is miles better than the Humax. Any minimal benefit (if there are any) of using different inputs is lost because of the switching of TV inputs.

The wii looks better because it's delivering a 480P (progressive) image over component. There will be no advantage for a 576i transmission between RGB over scart and the same over component. The SD component may help if you were connecting the box to a high quality scaler in a expensive AV amp which dont accept rgb inputs

Would a DVD playing on the Panny benefit from the Component??

Quite possibly because DVD players like the Wii can output progressive pictures over component. Try it out and check the menus to see if there is a progressive output option
