Hi,

It's been a long, long time since I've posted here. Not since the early days when I first got my Hummy. It's a testament to how food a piece of kit it really is. Quirky yes, sometimes unreliable, however it has to be the most used appliance even outliving some TV's. Basically it's been thrashed for a long time.

As of the seventh it's stopped recording. Every recording comes up with he no entry 'corrupt' icon. However the HDD still works, all previously recorded programs play perfectly and rewinding a pausing live TV works.

Can anyone suggest a fix?

Wow a quick search for my previous post show I've had the 9200 for 5 years. That must be some kind of HDD marathon record.

The only options really are a factory reset and then hard drive format, if that doesn't help the hard-drive might have bad sectors, these are remapped to spares but when the run out the drive can stop accepting writes.

Most likely cause is a corrupt file system which is most easily fixed by formatting the disk from the HDD Control menu. If you don't want to lose recorded programs and are happy to open the box you can use humaxrw to download the programs to a PC before the format and put htem back afterwards.

Hi,

Last night the recorded program list was populated, this morning everything is gone. So I've factory resetted and formatted the drive. All working now. Hopefully it can hang in there for a few more months and then I'll replace it with the freeviewHD equivalent.

Thanks for the replies.

For the record, they could still have been recovered but not after a format. The loss of the recorded program list is another indication of file system corruption so hopefully all will be well now.

The exact same thing happened to me about a month ago. Everything has been absolutely fine since I formatted the HDD.

Indeed they could but I have no PC to do it with and frankly it had hoarded a lot of stuff that would have never been watched. The only mild annoyance was a clip of a news item that featured a friend being interviewed. Worse still I sat there last night thinking I should just record it with a camera.

Pleased to hear it should be working fine now. I've had the file system corrupt once before when I first got the hummy and it's worked fine since.
