Samsung LE37A558 flickering
We have an irritating problem with our Samsung LCD, model LE37A558, which is about 2 years old now. Sometimes, usually when using our PS3 the screen will start to flicker randomly; this will happen a few times with increasing frequency, then the screen will go black for a second or two, then all will be right with the world.
Today we got a new LG blu ray 5.1 system, and it happens when viewing the menu screens on that too, minus the part where it stops - it just keeps going. Quick video (because my description's inadequate): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOkDyh2Appo Our Xbox has never, ever had this problem. All devices are connect to the TV via HDMI, and we've used a variety of cables and every HDMI port - seems to make no difference. Anyone got any clues what it could be? It's hard to reproduce and pretty intermittent, until today - the TV and new 5.1 system really don't seem to like each other. The best we can think is that there's a framerate/refresh rate conflict somewhere, but no end of fiddling with settings on the PS3/5.1/TV solves it. We upgraded the TV firmware this evening, and it made no difference. Any ideas much appreciated! |
