Is she there to appeal to the so-called "younger generation" as with the younger female judges who appear in the competition. If so, she's rather a D-list version of Cheryl Cole. Is there no one else, don't they have the budget for a bigger name or can't the BBC admit to last year's mistake?

Dee no unfortunately they dont seem to be able to do that.....last year the mods on the Beeb boards spent their ENTIRE time deleting all the anti-Alesha threads.....IMO that is part of the reason they closed the boards this year.....

I think people should be allowed to express their dislike about something/someone but I'm also a little sick of the constant bashing of real people online and in real life. We get it, you don't like her. Can't you just say that once and move on? I don't seek people out that love Ben Affleck and tell them over and over how much and in all the different ways I don't like him.

Hi Dee <hug> nice meeting you too.....yep I am looking forward to the show as well......didnt like them doing what they did tonight I would of much preferred them to show the intro the week before the actual show rather than having to wait another 3 weeks....
I hope your mods will be able to do something about these threads cause as I said above its a PITA when the board is just about Alesha and the way she speaks......

the mods are prettty fair here im sure they will sort it, they want the beeb posters im sure as we all do, new bloods great in a forum, but just not the "better than us" attitude some seem to bring I preferred it when they met before and then the show actually started as well the fake niceness of some of them when obviously they would rather have some other star was very cheesy and obvious.

.....dont get me wrong Dee I like a good ole "banter" but these Alesha threads are just stupid....and yes I know where you are coming from with the "better than us" attitude - it was rampant last year on the Beeb boards - dont know why they are like that cause half of them cant spell or type properly themselves.......
I lmao at some of the pros faces tonight.....would say that some are deffo not happy
especially Ola....felt sorry for her though but then I would of felt sorry for anyone who had Paul as a partner......wonder what "magic" he will bring.....am liking the idea of Brendan and Michelle though....
This may not be popular but I like her. I think its good that a former contestant is on the panel. I knew nothing about fleckles etc before SCD but if I can make accurate judgements compared to the panel whilst sat on the sofa and never having danced, she certainly justfies her position as a judge. OK her grammar is hardly text book, but then this is an entertainment show not English language lesson, innit.

Love Michelle saw her in Chicago she was excellent and she was so shy and quiet in DC i was suprised by her tonight she was saucy loved the "come to mama" comment, if she carries on like that she will win over the audience we love a little postcard seaside humour...
Im sure ola got Paul as she won last year and they like to keep it rotating.. about time brendan got someone decent.. i did feel for anton though.. and mathew cutler side lined?? for that little american boy? ugh no

yes someone else said that about Ola......that youngster looks about 12 lol.......I liked Brendan and Lisa and supported them but I know that everyone didnt like her but I did......
However I am going to see how they dance but at the moment I am leaning towards Brendan cause I like him....
