I'm sorry but I don't think an ex-male winner would have received half as much stick if they'd been signed up.

What do you mean she hasn't got the brain? I doubt very much Bruno is Mensa-level (or indeed fluent in English) but that doesn't stop him being a great judge!

What is the point of Alesha threads that reiterate and regurgitate the same points as 6,987 other Alesha threads?

Do you think that the posters who came over this year from the BBC boards think the subject of Alesha as a judge was not discussed on here last year?

Maybe they think they are saying something we've not heard week in week out on here?

DS posters are world champions at the Broken Record style of posting.

We've all been wondering that - it seems to be that no one can admit it was a mistake.

Yes.

Maybe, last year this particular subject was not given the full airing and every single point of view given and discussed as much as it should have been.

Perhaps that should be rectified and everyone given the chance to really expound their full, frank and reasoned opinions on the merits or otherwise of Alesha giving a few comments on a Saturday night entertainment programme.

Or perhaps I shall just go and find a gun and I don't mean Gavin's.

1. Not everyone thinks it is a mistake.

2. Not everyone is wondering what her role as judge is because it was made clear before the last series started -

"...my job is not to replace Arlene, my job is to provide a perspective that was missing before and that is the understanding of the performance aspects and of just how tough it is to perform to the standards viewers expect."

And that's what she did last series and presumably will do this series.

This thread like the other Alesha threads is filled with posters complaining about Alesha threads.

That just makes them popular threads and keeps them going!!

Quite.

It used to be about halfway through the series I wanted to top myself on here, now it's 3 weeks before it bloody starts.

Well if that's what she intended to do I don't think she made a very good job of it. If this was her remit she seemed to be treading on the other judges toes and added very little to the points of view expressed by the panel.

'Cept she only seemed to indentify with some of them - her insight into performing didn't seem to stop her being rude to Criag Kelly and Laila last year - and if she's there to be different to the main judges then the fact being as if not more rude than them surely underlines how pointless she is. Like most people whom find a gift for something it is hard to understand someone whom struggles with it.

That's true...There are other things that stop him from being a great judge imo Such as his inability to hide his partiality towards one or two (or three or four) of the shapelier female celebs in the past series Then there's his inability to sit still for more than 10secs without bouncing around like Kermit smashed on cheap cider Then there's the messing around with Alesha that wouldn't look out of place in a primary school playground

All nothing to do with dancing of course, and I do appreciate that there has to be some theatrical element to the judges comments, but they all used to be able to comment and be amusing without resorting to pantomime...but they do now, and Bruno is the worst offender imo

I think she was a bad choice - she does not have enough experience. The experience of previously taking part she does not seem interested in sharing
