I find it a strange form of sexism. It basically says that the only interesting storyline a woman can have is a pregnancy one.

There was an interview with Emmerdale people (I don't know who they were though) on This Morning a while ago and they were talking about the Aaron story and how he wasn't planned to be gay. But presumably they wanted a gay storyline (can't think why
) and they thought him being gay (und unhappy about it) could explain the anger issues his character already had.So going by that they should bring Lucy back and she can be the lesbian character (and get off with Zainab!
) sorted!.

Thought I'd pop on for a browse! And I find this chat. Usually I would just read everyone else's comments but a few caught my eye. They're probably the longest posts of the thread so far so I apologise!

This this THIIIIIIS! You said exactly what I was thinking. Every soap just seems to be jumping on the gay/lesbian bandwagon and it's so stupid!! Am I right in saying that Chryed started long before Aaron/Jackson in ED? (I don't watch ED and probably never will.) My point was, EE introduced this 'mega-controversial' gay storyline. Next thing, ED has a guy struggling with his sexuality and then Corrie have lesbians. Fair enough they're all completely different storylines and have taken a different approach but I just feel that all soaps seem to be pretty much the same these days in terms of storylines. Might just be me though!
And I'll add that EE/Johnny/Marc have done a ridiculously better job than the others and they shouldn't even be compared
