Whilst I am confident that the boring comments are in the minority, it does bother me as well cos it does feel like people are jumping onto a bandwagon at the moment I hope Kirkwood knows that Chryed have a massive fanbase though and that lots of us want them to be together...it's definitely a good idea to make our positive views known to him though In a way though, these comments are kind of a good thing cos at least Chryed are being talked about, whether it's good or bad. Mulling over the whole thing I'm yet to make my mind up as to whether many simply don't like Syed and hate the fact he's with Christian now, clearly happy and will take every opportunity to make sarcastic comments or if in reality is just plain old homophobia dressed in a different suit. Maybe it's both....maybe people can't stand the sight of two grown men from very different backgrounds so obviously in love and showing it....we've talked about this before, there's homophobia, racism and even ageism here, all nicely dressed in post modern talk....underneath it's the same old prejudice.

indeed, i think its a mixture of all of these and also, some people simply cant stand to see people happy.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. There's definitely a strong element of homophobia in all the criticism. Some people like to believe that gay relationships are all, to quote Christian, casual and sordid so when they see two men together, happy,in love and committed to each other it challenges all their preconceptions about homosexuality. It was easier for them when Syed was with Amira, cos they could play the "I don't mind them being gay, it's the cheating that's wrong" card (which never seems to be such an issue with straight couples,like Max and Vanessa for example. Where are all the threads calling Max a homewrecking stalker and Vanessa a selfish coward?
) but now they don't have that excuse, the only thing they can throw at them is that they're boring:sleep:I'm not worried about Kirkwood listening to the haters, he's a gay man himself so I'm sure he couldn't give a monkey's, but it can't hurt to let him know that we all laaarve the sl, so I will email TM anyway. Then they were suddenly on a white horse and the underground changed to overground and they waved at me and I stood there for AGGEEES in a daze. Then I SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEED really loudly (no-one else was in the compartment) and then rushed off (and ended up in some woodland) trying to find any Chryedian to telll this to but got accused of being one of my r/l friends who was also there and got told I was a crap driver even though it wasn't me who'd been driving. Saw AC, MT and Elphaba and ran to tell them about my encounter with Johnny and Jon but my mum suddenly appeared and told me off for stealing her crisps, that I didn't even have!
Tried to tell her about JP and Jon and she didn't care.
The last thing I thought was about stealing my sister's iphone so I could tell everyone on here and then I woke up and couldn't sleep so thought I'd tell you all.”
