I would heart you forever if I could watch the entire ep!! I've only seen the clips vid that you made (which was probably pretty much all of it anyway I'm guessing)

BIB: yes, I would love to see that too, and it would make a lot of sense. Linda would be able to relate to Zainab's feelings about Syed's sexuality and would be the ideal person to make her see sense

Just emailed my question for BK to TM but am hoping they don't read it out, cos if they give my name everyone who knows me in rl will know it's me cos I have a rather unusual first name. If they use the name I signed with, which is a kind of abbreviation of my name, I'll be fine, but if they use the name and surname on the email header I'll be outed on national TV I know I'm worrying over nothing and they won't read it out but I'm stressing now
Every unusual name that gets read out tomorrow, we'll be thinking is you now. Just hope someone called Lucindarustbucket doesn't write in saying how much they're dieing to see Hinty having shower sex and playing hunt the soap on a rope...you may never live it down!

and i think this would be when i would have to switch off well not switch off, i've watched EE since i was 6, but watch through tears with a possible shake of the head and fist every so often.

i understand the need for aww moments, and i hope you get them jack nasty - maybe in a sub-plot where they kidnap camel or something - but if they were ever reduced to this, i would have to weep.

what else has never been done before? an adult sexual gay couple living a life that doesn't conform to the asexual comfort of grannies and young children. to take this gorgeous complex sexual homosexual couple and make them glorified carbon copy housewives, or god help us, 'cute gays', would just be an insult IMO - to alternative life styles and the gorgeous dynamic of these characters themselves.

i will however help you with a petition to reunite camel with syed's chest.
Well that's the most important thing anyway!

I know i have been awol for a posting regularly for a while... and with chyred together and the original domesticity out of the way... theres nothing that pulls me here to carry on posting...and with RL and fasting ... it just made things even harder

I love the star cross lovers and i love the two together but the story is at a bit of a cross roads at the moment.. as in there isnt much going on.. the actors have taken a break... and theres no angst and drama at the moment.

And yes when a couple get together and there is nothing a couple does become boring... and kirkwood knows that and the drama will come it has too... as the actors remain.. qadim is to return... the baby story.... tention.... a man from syeds past turning up....

it will happen ,..... it feels there needs to be a lot more heartache ... before there is pure domesticity....

come on even ricky and bianca dont get domesticity,,

the couple or the individuals need a new story,.... another dimension to the drama

and it will happen unless one of them or both of them is set on leaving

and if one of them or both of them is set on leaving then so be it in my opinion .. we got what we wanted the two together...

my view on tis is ce sera sera...

while the two are on ,.... then there story and characterisation is linked and should be....

I know some of what i said is not what people may want to hear ... but its reality... the story moves on or the character ends...

The question is where are the actors and directors in terms with this.

So basically I agreed with Marc comments ... whats next ... we all need to know because then we will get bored and this thread will just slow down .... and then at some point end...

Its not the end yet ... but i guess the next bunch of stories will determine where the characters are to go.. and what they have in store for them..

Now if i had the chance to ask Brian a question it would be that ...

what next ... cause there has to be a next ....
Gosh you are so right although some of it makes me quite nervous. It's a really good basis for the start of an email to This Morning.

Now YT's extended vid length should be easy to upload the entire episode in 2 parts....had some edited clips up once but due to copyright they were blocked after awhile.......But i'll try again..

Hi Surreal. There is much truth in what you write.

But there is one other perspective. Sexual tension is exciting to watch, and that is why many programmes never resolve the tension in the relationship depicted. There really is something quite compelling about watching longing glances, unrequited lust, thwarted passion...

I feel it, too. It is not the same, however, I wanted them to get together and I love seeing them together. I am not looking forward to marriage and babies and puppies - sorry, but such domesticity I don't want and I have never believed that that is the only happy ending possible for a couple. But I do love to see them together and snogging and cuddling and arguing and laughing. But it is not the same and not as dramatic. So be it. It is a different story now and if people are looking for that kind of story, of star-crossed lovers, they will not find it now in Chryed.

This is the case with all of our relationships, no? There is no thrill like the 'does he, will she? phase, and the beginnings, when the passion is most intense. But, who wants to remain there?

Anyhoo, Heartsick has spoken. Or at least, made an IMHO. Or something.

I do keep in touch and will post occasionally, but cannot lose as much time playing with you all as last year - and I do not want to have to sign myself off as did Shelza.

Love you all,

HS
Hello Heartsick

I miss having you around....great post as usual and very good points raised as well.

Yes, sexual tension is fantastic but as some TV shows have found out audiences also tire of this when there's never a resolution. Eventually they will for one person to simply find someone else....cue online "War of the Shippers"

It's also noticeable how the boring criticism has not been leveled at the many heterosexual couples in the EE, although some comment that Rack with its similar on-off has been dragged too long.

My thoughts remain, Chryed are singled out not so much because a "will they, won't they" is exciting to watch, which I agree it is but because they are a gay couple and a highly unusual one for that matter. There are enough loose strands hanging over their heads to make for good drama, from the relationship with the Masoods to Syed's divorce, the baby he doesn't know exists, etc, happy and settled home life does guarantee an easy ride for any couple and the boys are no exception.

The sexual chemistry is as strong as ever and I'm certain that if a scene portrays the boys eyeing up each other from the distance or say they are in a place/function where they can't be too close, electricity/lust building up between them....then finally reaching the flat, opening the door and pretty much eat each other off.....well, if that's boring, then by all means let me bored!

Aw, I'll miss you around as much! I love your posts.

I do miss the sexual tension, but they were complaining that was boring too lol.

There's still tension with the family, but I think there needs to be internal tension within Syed once it hits home that he's done this massive thing... once the honeymoon period is over to retain interest.
It's lovely and happy now, and I think it's a good payoff but an anticlimax.
I want more drama, and to see how they react to other things as a couple.
Now they are together they need to interract with others on the square, so they are not just 'Chryed' and that's it, they need something new to fill the gap before/if/when they get the baby... like the business or just to be in another story arc so the other fans get attatched to them and don't see them as a one story couple.
Word my dear Glowbot

RE the domesticity...I did feel that BK has moved it very quickly to here, but I'm hoping there is still more angst that hasn't been explored..re the Masoods especially and I hope they still plan to explore that. They have missed opportunities, Ramadan, secrets still to come out, but I've been hoping that that has been because he's let the story take a backseat and it's become a bit of a filler and lighter relief. I do hope he's not going to just forget that Syed is still being shunned at the mosque and in the wider community, that the Masoods also will be suffering some backlash and Zainab and Masood still have major issues with their son and with Christian. .

I take your point, and I do agree that I would hate to see them become safe, asexual "teatime gays" but I don't think that would inevitably be the case if they became parents. They would still be the same Christian and Syed that we all fell in love with and having a baby wouldn't necessarily be the be-all and end-all of their relationship. As Who Me? said, it doesn't stop Roxy or Zainab having other sls, so it needn't stop the boys either. I think becoming a family could open up more sl options for them, rather than restricting them. As long as the writing stays true to the characters it would be a case of them moving on and developing, rather than changing into something they're not, kind of like how Christian went from good-time party boy who'd shag anything with a pulse to the more mature, caring and sensitive man he is now. It wasn't a radical over-night change of character to suit the sl, but a natural progression (same with Sy's journey towards self-acceptance).
But like I said, I don't want to see it for a while yet, even for the "aww" moments. They've proved from DC week onwards they can manage plenty of that all by themselves

Every unusual name that gets read out tomorrow, we'll be thinking is you now. Just hope someone called Lucindarustbucket doesn't write in saying how much they're dieing to see Hinty having shower sex and playing hunt the soap on a rope...you may never live it down!
