I'll explain it slowly then... Just the fact that Kylie is helping anyone places those acts in the public's mind. Time and time again over the years, various polls have stated that Kylie is the most beloved and popular/powerful celeb in this country (no matter that Cowell tries to make out that Cheryl is the next coming seemingly overnight).
Just the fact that she's helping therefore, maybe adds a few percentage points to the voting public, thus keeping in Dannii's acts last year that perhaps would have either been voted out sooner, or Cowell would have done so based on his embarrassing and continuous efforts to keep Tweedy happy and Jedward in because of the ratings (hence her getting the girls this year).

They added that Nicole is just doing some promo.
She is releasing a single next week I think or the week after.

Fact that Supersonic does PR for both Cheryl and Nicole probably has something to do with. Allows them to stop the avoiding stories with Cheryl, and helps promote Nicole.

That makes no sense at all to me

I voted for Stacey a few times last year, but not once did i think about Kylies fleeting appearance at judges houses weeks earlier. In fact i think i forgot all about by the first live show.

In anycase if it was so influential then how come Joe won, with Cheryl as mentor, or perhaps that was because Will Young's popularity at judges house. Also how come Rachel and Lucie went out so early?

The Judges Houses guest judge has no influence over any of the live shows.
They are used for ratings & how much ITV can sell an ad spot for the week they are on, end of story...

You can explain it as slowly as you want but it's still rubbish.

Do you seriously think people who watch the show think: "Even though I like Bob, I'm going to vote for Mary because Dannii is her mentor and she had Kylie helping her at the judges house stage 2 months ago!" I think not.

If you remember last year Rachel wasn't popular at all – she was in the bottom 2 for the first 2 weeks – explain that? Also, Lucie was voted out earlier than anyone expected her to be – she was bottom of the public vote that week. Yeah, well done Kylie.
