Betting update: George 6/13 to win BB5
Pingu
28-06-2004
Filed: 23:52, Day 32 by James Millman, readaBet.com

New housemate George has only been in the house for a matter of hours, but that hasn’t stopped some bookmakers pricing up his chances of winning. At the time of writing William Hill offer the best available odds of 6/13 on the latest arrival to Big Brother.

Looking back at the past four Big Brother series, all of the housemates who arrived after the original contestants have failed to survive for any great amount of time.

In BB1, it was Claire who after a few weeks flirting was given her marching orders.
In BB2, it was Josh who managed to last a few weeks before departing.
In BB3, Tim didn’t take too much time to annoy the nation and he eventually left.
In BB4, Lisa took even less time than Tim to anger her fellow housemates.

If history is anything to go by, it would be a foolish investment to back George for Big Brother glory. That said there is a first time for everything and it is still well worth monitoring him for the next week or so, in case she does present a danger to the likes of Dan, Stuart and Shell.

Those odds are way to long - George has got to be a lot more popular than erstwhile favourites Dan and Nadia, let alone the others. I'm backing George to win BB5.
