Because Lilia declined the BBC's offer to be part of the dance troupe.

I had read about Lilia refusing the part in the dance troupe - good for her, i.m.o. it reeks of desperation to stay with a programme that obviously doesn't really want you anymore - can't help wondering what the air was like in the Bennett household while that was up for discussion though....

It was such a shame! But I think she made the right choice, the Troupe came across as a bit of an after-thought compared to the pro-routines performed by the 'competing' pros. Recon the Troupe will be scrapped by next year. Ian might just wangle his job back over the height issues.

I wouldn't quite say desperation but it certainly is demotion and I felt sad for Ian and Darren on Sat. It's like saying you're no longer good enough for the premiere division but we have a place for you in the B division if you want it. I admire Lilia and Matt for telling them they don't want to be sidelined like that.

I thought the BBC were supposed to be on a cost cutting crusade and yet they've added was it 6 or 8 other dancers for this troupe.

Jay Hunt should be demoted to continuity girl.

I'm glad to say she's demoted herself, resigned and going to Channel 4. At least she won't have any influence over Strictly any more, good riddance to her. Channel 4 must be barking mad to take this woman on.
