One of the reasons why blogs replace messageboards is that it denies the licencepayer the opportunity to contribute valid points to a long critical thread.

I've always said the BBC had too many boards. They said so themselves a few years ago and used it to justify closing two "Points of View" boards.

Then they gave "Bonekickers" four.

You never win with the BBC.
Er - it's also a damn sight cheaper ... which is the real rationale behind the move. There have been many redundancies announced in the online department.

But if you want to believe your theory is correct, far be it from me to stop you!

BTW, Bonekickers was given multiple boards to try and engage the 'young' audience ...

Roll your eyes at someone else, there's no need to be impolite.
I don't mind what you believe it won't change my opinion.
If you think the redundancies has forced the closing of the SCD board, but not any of the six Archers' boards, then that's fine by me.

I was rolling my eyes at the BBC's cynicism, not you ... No need to take it personally!

And I never said redundancies had closed the SCD board. I said that politics was responsible.

End of!

It's unbelievable that The Archers has so many different boards. How popular is The Archers in terms of listeners? Is it equitable with SCD or even Eastenders viewing figures?

Actually, I think we should take the BBC's advice and take over the POV boards!!!

It would be rather rude NOT to take over the POV boards, seeing as they've asked us to!

Presumably on The Archers boards everyone plays nicely and that's why they keep it running. No pesky posters complaining about the show
