Have a go at the Mental Agility tests yourself. Good fun, takes about 10 minutes to do the four tests and if you note your age score after each one you can do your average. My average age ended up as 22.5 years old - quite chuffed as i'm 41! ”
I'm not clever enough to work out averages but I think I did ok, lol
I got 18, 18, 22 and 33 so I'm guessing it's somewhere around 20-25 at a guess.
only mistake in the house was the VHS video which was not invented until 1976 and was not available in the UK until 1977
it should have been the Philips 1500 which was the only domestic video in 75 but you had to be very well off to own one
I love programs like this it was good to see Kenneth Kendal and Derk Jameson again
Very interesting programme--and well made, too. Its a bit shocking seeing how old and infirm all these famous names are, like Kenneth Kendall and Derek Jameson and Sylvia Sims..they never seem to age once you've seen them on screen--makes you think of yourself growing older as well...the house is VERY 1975!..I suppose do more with the old grey matter, and keep moving!
I loved it though it was sad in places - especially Kenneth Kendall saying how much he missed having a dog because with a dog you never feel alone. He felt he could no longer exercise one properly but he obviously misses it a lot.

I thought that was the saddest bit. Many others would be bitter about it, but he seems to have accepted it.
Kenneth seemed so lonely when he said about his dog and missing it. tonight it looks like he is wearing the connector for a blood transfusion'taking contraption. Hope all is OK
I only got to watch this today on recall. I really enjoyed it and I'm looking forward to tonights episode.
I don't think it was a good idea to let them carry their own luggage upstairs. It's quite exhausting thing to do, I know I couldn't do it and I'm not as old as them.
I was sitting watching them on tender hook in case they fell.

It did look a little bad but it was done to allow them to tell their minds and bodies that they could do more than they thought they were able to do.
I scored 36, 39, 23 and 36 averaging an age of 33.2 years, I'm 45. I'm happy with that score, I don't expect to have the same mind I did 10 or 20 years ago. I know both the brain and body deteriorates with age.
From the little I saw of the programme it was nice to see that the participants self belief grew and for the most they turned down the help of the carers. Was it Dickie and Derek that allowed the carers to do something in the kitchen for them? I think that was a male mindset and the era in which they grew up, rather than anything to do with their old age.
What hit home to me about old age was when Kenneth said he'd rather tie his own shoe laces. It reminded me of when I was pregnant, having a huge lump in front of me made it impossible to bend that low. I really don't want to feel that incapable again.
