Cheryl Cole - Messy Little Raindrops (2nd Studio Album)
Okayyyy so the new album title has just been announced. Quote:
A title for Cheryl Cole's new album has been revealed as Messy Little Raindrops. srcThe record - Cheryl's second as a solo artist - will be released on November 1st, following the lead single Promise This on October 24th. A tracklisting hasn't been revealed yet, but Cole worked with a number of big name producers on the CD, including regular collaborator Will.i.am, JR Rotem, Starsmith and Wayne Wilkins - who produced her debut hit Fight For This Love. Cheryl's last album 3 Words has now achieved triple-platinum status, after selling over 900,000 copies since its release last October. The Girls Aloud star is rumoured to be performing Promise This live on The X Factor around the time of its release, with insiders saying Cheryl is planning her sexiest routine yet. Sorry, I love Chezza but I HATE this album title.....hopefully the music will make up for it. And I love Promise This. The second single is apparently called 'The Flood' with the hook 'You can't hold on to water.' |

Terrible title.
Out Of Tune would have been more apt. |

For those who have heard it or got it already, are there any alterations to the album version of 'promise this'? Sometimes they are different to the single mix
![]() Hope my CD arrives tomorrow

Nope. Promise This is exactly the same on the album, no changes.

It's leaked anyway. I would say 'unfortunatly' but it will deffinatly go to #1...worse position would be top 5. I know people *cough on DS* slag her off to the ground but she must be doing something right to shift tons and tons of records. Ok-the performance on XF probably helped her go to #1 but the EP on iTunes was at #7 or something in the pre-order chart alone..
Good on ya Cheryl love.

I'm not one to slag Cheryl off but I downloaded this album and it's really not very good- the vocals are extremely light-weight and indistinct, the songs pretty unoriginal. Nothing here lives up to Promise This- standout tracks are Amnesia and Hummingbird

The style of the album is more varied, but her singing is still not up to scratch and the songs seem bland. The first half of the album (after Promise This of course) seems to wash over me completely, the tracks really don't do much. Cheryl's voice is really monotonous on some of the tracks, a world away from the light vocals of Happy Hour and Heaven. Its a shame as I really wanted to like this album. It just doesn't meet the expectations. 5/10 |

The lyrics are a bit....suspect. I love the production on Let's Get Down but the lyrics are total cringe and very offputting.
I like Live Tonight and Everyone. The Flood is growing on me but I just feel this album exposes the worst things about Cheryl's voice whereas her debut album did a great job of playing to her strengths. |

It's arrived!
![]() Just to tell you though...(some people had this problem with '3 words' last year)...if you import using iTunes, it comes up with 'track 1, track 2' etc...just right click 'get names' and then after a few seconds wait..the whole full tracklisting appeared...never knew that so i'm proud of myself! Saved me typing the the names in ![]() Can't wait to listen! |

I always worry for an album if, without a doubt, the clear best song is the lead single. Not a good sign.
The only other song that stood out to me was Yeah Yeah. The rest have all blurred together in an unremarkable mess. Her vocals sound so feeble and forced in some of the songs that it's almost distracting...like you're holding out hope she'll hit the note. I dunno, not impressed. Didn't buy 3 Words, but judging by the singles it was better than this. Also goes without saying that there's no friggin way she can crack the US with material like this. She needs Rihanna and Britney's producers, stat. |

Actually regardness of what producers you have, doesn't guarantee you any success. I've known some good producers to really produce shit music
