Am looking to buy a cheap tv/dvd combi 19" to 22"
am thinking of either a digimate 22" from ebuyer for 310
or a 19" visual inovation from richer sounds for £99 with the option of a 5 year warranty for a tenner
the digimate seems a better tv but only has a 12 month warranty
Will be most grateful for any advise

I would suggest the extended warranty could be VERY useful, the DVD players in combi's never seem to last very long.

I've just bought the LG 22LU7000 from Richer Sounds for 200 pounds (hence my post earlier today for region coding info).

Only had it 24 hrs, but was a great price for the features, set up was easy and looks nice.

So far I've only hooked it up with a really cheap aerial and managed to get 40 ish digi channels, plus radio.

Pic quality from the antennna seems good. Also tested a few DVD's and no real issues with colours, pixellation etc.

TV guide seems easy to navigate with a handy mini settings menu you can adjust whilst still watching your program. There are all the usual aspect ratio options to play with as well

Plenty of connections to for any AV gear you want to hook up, including USB.

Audio is probably the lowest quality aspect of the kit. TV and DVD sounds fine for flat panel speakers, but the CD I tried seemed tinny. Although to be fair I haven't tweaked the sound settings properly yet.

All said, for 200 pounds I don't think you can go far wrong for a 22 " TV.

Hopefully, I won't regret typing that in a few months....

Yes, quite. And, since some DVD players cost only £15 .........

Inbuilt ones don't

Sony now do some sets with built-in DVD players, although they are actually the first ever Sony TV's to be 'bought-in' - in this case from Beko.

So far they seem pretty decent sets, and come with the Sony five year guarantee.

The initial offers on them means the DVD version is only £10 more expensive, which has got to be a bargain

Because I'm like that, I looked up the cost of replacing the DVD mech, it would cost about £150+vat to replace it!!.
