Shayne wards new album 'obsession' is out on 15th november. Where do you think it will chart given that Subos second album is out that week aswell.

Oh dear. Syco can't be releasing two of their own act's albums the same week? obviously Subo will hit the #1 spot. People have forgotten about Shayne. Unless he gets an XF performance, poor guy has no chance.

Radio airplay will, as ever, be a deciding factor too. The single needs to be something radio friendly that stations such as Radio One are happy is 'cool' enough for their main playlists. If the single doesn't get that form of exposure, then the album will struggle without a concerted advertising campaign or a performance on The X Factor (which would, as you suggest, have the biggest impact).

You'd think Simon Cowell would give all of his artists who have forthcoming releases a slot on the show. Last year there were two guest artists each week during the live shows, so it shouldn't difficult for Shayne to be on one week. With that sort of opportunity in front of more than ten million people, the album should sell well.

Isn't Rhianna's new album released that week too? As for the single, it's a tough week for singles his week too, Nelly, Mike Posner and Rhianna will all be big around then.

According to the official site, Digital Spy will have an exclusive clip of the single this morning. The whole song will then premiere later across the Big City radio network in England (which includes Sheffield's Hallam FM and Manchester's Key 103 amongst others) on its 7pm show.

just heard this news and eagerly awaiting clip of Shayne Wards long awaited single ! no one expects it to go to No. 1 but with a bit of good promo (he is now with outside org who so far have been fantastic) and a well deserved slot on the X factor (surely they cant deny him that) he should do well . He is hugely talented vocally and does not get enough credit for that. the fact he is a complete hottie too (seen new pics pwoarrrr ) can only be a good thing ! Chart sales dont mean much these days and all his fans are hoping that we will get a tour next year, he is an outstanding performer btw and well worth every penny ! Welcome back Lord Ward x

Syco probs released SuBo and Shayne at same time as i would doubt that they share much of a fanbase so both albums will sell regardless and record label will have two top selling albums at the same time, part of Simon Cowell world domination plans no doubt lol ! i wont be buying SuBo x

It's working fine for me. There's an interview as well:

Shayne Ward Interview

I'm astounded that the single is a Nickelback cover, considering the amount of new material that's supposedly been recorded over the last three years. If an artist wants to be seen as credible, covers are never a good route to take. The shelving of the RedOne material doesn't bode well either, although obviously I'll have to reserve judgement until the album is actually released. Given the amount of time that's been spent on creating it though, limiting it to ten song seems bizarre.
