On the wknd I removed all my AV gear as I changed the cabinet over.
Have already had problems with the Sky HD overheating...

Now I finally put my amp back in (Philips LX700) and wired it all back in, turned it on to test and nothing!

It comes on, and I can go through all the sources (optical/co-ax/stereo/tuner, etc) and all seem to be being received as the spectrum analysers for every channel are all going like mad, but there is just no output at all from any speaker.

I have unplugged each speaker and tested with a AA battery and they all respond so there is no wiring fault..
If it wouldnt turn on or something I would consider it fooked, but everything about the amp seems to work fine, it just wont give any actual output...

I have taken lid off and cant see any obvious black or loose wires, and there is no smell of overheating anywhere inside..
Does anyone know what to check??

Was your amp switched on when you moved the amp or removed the speaker cables?

If you answer yes then you may have short circuited the output stage of your amp.

Electrostatic discharge is another possible problem whilst handling the amp.

Does the headphone socket work?

is it a complicated one? I just bought a AV amp, and after pressing a few buttons, i couldnt get any sound out for about an hour.

i think I had pressed the tuner, or set it for B speakers, or something similar.

In the end I got it sorted, and I have a better understanding ...

does your player generate a test tone? does that work?
