Did Len Goodman do the dirty on Brian Fortuna?
Apologies if this has been discussed before, but does anybody else think that Brian's demotion and demise from the show was engineered by Len Goodman?
Here we have a world-class dancer and teacher whose services were deemed not suitable for a third appearance on SCD - and is mysteriously replaced by some unknowns. Who would make such a decision? Not a BBC exec who knows nothing about ballroom dancing, and not a BBC producer who would make a decision against the wishes of head-judge Len. Brian had the brains and ability (and audacity) to go it alone with Dancing on Wheels and picked a judging panel that did not include Len nor, presumably, involved him in any part of the show's production. Coincidence?? I think not. Anybody who thinks Brian's replacement was a random decision should think again. |

I would reply but I'm getting confused with which threads are spoof ones now.

![]() ![]() But in answer to the original question, I'd just like to congratulate the OP on their very active imagination. |

There are lots of BBC dance shows that don't include Len. I know some people love conspiracy theories, but this is just pure speculation, imagination and goodness knows what else.

If this is a spoof thread :
If not: No, don't be ridiculous. Why would Len be annoyed at not be asked to appear on the judging panel of a show that was aired on a non-mainstream channel and pulled in a fraction of the audience of Strictly, never mind comparing it with the audience that watches him on DWTS! And why on earth are you suggesting such a thing about Brian and not Ian, Matt, Darren and Lilia, who are all just as successful if not more so in their own right? |

Wasn't Brian's departure engineered by Brian? He quit.

I'm just relieved to find I had misread the thread title and it doesn't really say 'Len did the dirty with Brian'.
![]() Explains why Ali was marked down - Len was jealous. |

Yes I think Len definitely has a game plan.
But I think it's a different one than that put forward by the OP. I think Len was jealous of Brian's luxuriant locks (and Matthew's) and decided he wanted to replace both Brian and Matthew with Robin (nice shaved head) and Artem (tends to keep his hair on the shorter side). Not so sure about the replacement of Darren with Jared. Something went wrong there. ![]() Or maybe he just couldn't forgive Brian for wearing a DJ instead of a tail suit (was it in the waltz with Ali?). Mind you, can't see Robin in a tail suit but we'll see. Who will Len's next target be? I reckon it will be James if he goes back to that wolverine hair. |

And thus, conspiracy theories begin.
No foundation, much speculation, and maybe a bit too much gin. |

Anyone know why Brian left, and what he's doing now?
The new ones are nowhere near as good. |

They all ganged up to replace Brian because he's a young, cheesy American in their view. And replaced him with Jared who's a ..........oh hang on.
