Optical In Query
Trying to get this straight in my head before i do anything;
I have a new Blu Ray home theatre system, which obviously sets me up nicely to hear audio from Blu Ray through the system. If I want my general TV audio and say audio from my PS3 coming through the system as well, do i just utilise the optical-in input? Ie. run an optical lead from the TV into the back of the Blu Ray player/hub of the theatre system? |

Depends on which TV you have.
Not all pass HDMI audio to optical out. I believe panasonic and LG generally do, Samsung do not. Don't know about the others. |

Our TV's Sony, the home theatre is LG.
If all else fails then I'll just run the optical cable from the PS3 directly through to the receiver. Hooking the TV's audio output through the receiver would be preferable, but not the end of the world I guess. |

Alternatively you could connect the PS3 to the receiver via optical, then providing the TV/receiver supports phono outputs/inputs, connect the TV to the receiver with a pair of phonos.
