I think I like the epicness of the Tom Baker to Peter Davison regeneration best. The Watcher stalking the Doctor throughout the whole morbid story Logopolis, then at the end the Doctor falling to his death from the radio tower, with clips of his enemies wanting him dead and then of his companions calling his name, then the Watcher finally joining with the Doctor's body. It always gives me the shivers.
I think that regeneration is more significant because Tom played the part for so long. Think how those Tennant fans felt after 4 years at New Years and double it. It's a long time to be attached to that Doctor, and a particularly good one at that.

Though I only came in on the end of the Tom Baker Era, when you watch his era through from beginning to end and then watch that scene it really does give that impression that he was there a long time and how his fans must have felt at the time. That's why I think it was my fave.

couldn't have put it better myself. TB was my first doctor (I did see the last few JP) But I'd go as far to say that the visual effect of that Regen from TB to PD hasn't been bettered. I prefer the various ways of regeneration of the classic series. now the doctor will always have to be in the Tardis

It's that music as well, loved the music. Especially where on the recap at the beginning of Castrovalava where it leads effortlessly into the title sequence!!!!!

I hope that when MS time comes, they will change it for once and have The Doctor regenerate elsewhere. I thik Logopolis is the only one in the classic series where the TARDIS hasn't been near. The only other time it happened was in the '96 movie so a nice regeneration outside the TARDIS would be nice.

Well for I don't hate any of them...so lets get that out of the way...but I am not a big fan of the Colin to McCoy....but that is only because I know the background now to tha....and I really feel sorry for Colin And I feel Baker goes out on a whimper....but he has lovely last words, and love Peter's smile....

But anyway....my fave are Tennant to Matt.....one minute I am crying my eyes out...the next I am laughing my head off (only in Doctor Who!!!!)...love Caves....and the War Games too....Just Wish I could see the full Hartnell to Troughton one....how lucky are those who got to see it....it must have bee amazing to watch!!!!

I remember the regeneration in Logopolis at the time, and you're right. I was about 15 and could barely remember another Doctor than Tom.

The Colin/McCoy generation is the worst. It was never going to be much good without Colin there.

lol your dad is definitely lucky though!!

The abrupt, mad ending that his Doctor had does kind of suit him....if anyone had to have carrot juice as their last words...well Six is your man....but yes...I wsh it didn't happen in the circumstances that it did...

I also have just noticed that my post about doesn't clarify that I was also including Logopolis as my least favourite, and I forgot to add Chris to David as one that I love too!!!

I must be your Dad because I saw that when it was transmitted.
My favourite, actually I have two, Peter to Colin, nice effects especialy his companions and The Master talking to him and Chris to David, just a great piece of acting from all 3 involved.
I must admit I was never overly fond of the whole "watcher" thing

Cripes, I'm sure he wasn't the only viewer that day!!!!

Peter to Colin, not so keen on but effects-wise it was good. As you say, The companions/Master thing was a nice touch though. In respect of effects and dialogue, CE to Dt was better but musically DT to MS was better because of the briliant Vale Decem.
