I thought it was great having iPlayer on my Humax Foxsat Freesat PVR, but today having bought an ethernet switch, I connected my Sony Blu-ray BDV-E370 to the internet for the first time.

After doing a firmware update (first things first!) I did a search for internet video content and was gobsmacked when it came up with the following:

iPlayer, Demand Five, LoveFilm, Sony Entertainment Television, FIFA World Cup collection, Eurosport, YouTube, blip.tv, FordModels (fashion/lifestyle), Dailymotion, Howcast.com, ON Networks, GolfLink.com, Livestrong.com (health/fitness), LoveFilm Movie Trailers, SingingFool, Podcasts, Videocast.com, Tagesschau, Deutsche Welle.

I didn't have time to investigate everything, 'cos my wireless adapter lost connection while I was plugging cables in and out of the switch, and I need to borrow a neighbour's laptop which is still running XP to set it up again!

However, I was amazed by the amount of content - I'm not sure what everything is and obviously not everything will be of interest, but... Wow!

I'm sorry to say that your immediate Wow! will soon diminish.

Yeah I'd have to agree. I thought WoW at having Sony entertainment television which didn't last long as once you have watched the 1st episodes of Diferent Strokes, I Dream Of Jeanie and whatever the other ones were your sort of left with something that's useless as it doesn't look like its gonna get any more episodes anytime soon which is a shame.
BBC iPlayer and Love Film Trailers are the most used now.
I'm a bit unsure what to think if Love Film as I don't particulary want to pay a monthly subscription as I wouldn't use it enough. I would rather pay as and when I want to watch something.
I still think the Player overall is excellent.

Wait till you attach a media centre PC to it. Then you are really opening pandora's box.

Does it or will it have the ITV player ? Stuck with STV's silly stand on some programmes I'd like to see up here that are on every channel bar STV. ITV player would fix that without SKY. Don't like viewing on laptop.
