Oh I'm really hoping some of these 'old farts' show the youngsters up now!

I welcome older contestants. Just because you're over 50, doesn't mean you're past it!

Felicity and Pam could surprise a few people and Anne has more personality than all the younger contestants put together

It's disgusting; it's ageism in reverse.

The Beeb have clearly, once again, massively overreacted to the Arlene problem by deliberately employing older contestants this year.

Those people will make a mockery of the show; also, it's vastly unfair to the majority of celebs who are under 60, who have been denied their opportunity simply because of the BBC production team's clear age-bias for this season.

I'm not watching any more - the series is dead to me now. It's simply not worth it.

Don't see why they don't just do a fair mix - rather than all one thing or the other?

They got so much stick for 'losing' Arlene that they've gone mad for the saga generation this time!

Still - should surely be popular with the 'silver surfers!'

There are still a lot of young contestants. You feel sorry for poor fame-hungry celebs who want to further their careers? Poor dears! At least the older contestants are less likely to annoy us after it ends by appearing on countless TV shows.

Surely it was a conspiracy cooked up between the BBC and Ann Widdecombe on behalf of the conservative party to demonstrate to the Great British public that an increase in the pension age is perfectly reasonable.

Depends how it pans out. They may have older people outlasting the few younger better dancers they have put in and end up in an incredible final thats the equivalent of a veterans race after the main race ended. They may have avoided putting in anyone older or middle aged who can stay past their sell by date or win for something else. They may end up with no one popular between the older celebs and the fittest young dancers so the best are left at the end and not edged out again by the whoever comes through from the middle of the age range. They may have given up and noted that dancing ability may now not be a requirement to win and picked no one who will be that good so that it won't look odd whoever wins.
