No, it's a fair point. I know the music will be great, I just hope they know what they are doing management wise.

New blog..
To all my supporters out there.. Firstly again. Thank you for you patience. I am so so sorry for telling you guys that a single would be serviced to radio this week, that was the plan but weve decided to take a tiny bit more time as some exciting things have come up that we are looking at and RCA want to make sure everything is perfect. So please bare with us. I promise you all it will be worth the wait. When I get a date that is confirmed for the single to be serviced to radio I will inform you all once I know it is CONFIRMED!! THANK YOU ALL AGAIN FOR YOU LOVE AND PATIENCE XXX Alex's brother has tweeted... MrDavidBurke David Burke Glad @alexandramusic as clarified the situation regarding the single..its better IMO to be upfront while retaining respect w/ all involved |

Got there first Taz, but that tweet from David looks very very interesting...
![]() What's all that stuff about 'retaining respect'? Are Alexandra and RCA arguing or something? ![]()

To be fair, it must be a good sign if they have two tracks which are difficult to choose from? I mean if you are wanting to release a strong lead single, usually you have one which is a standout or a 'known' lead single, but if they have two REALLY strong track it seems to bode well for the album
![]() Either way, I'm sad we have to wait, but I'm glad they're being very 'picky' about how to release it rather than just putting it out there and seeing if it takes off or not. |

No label waits around if they have a surefire smash on their hands...They'd be working 24/7 to get it out there asap. Guess the problem is with the material they have so far.

A poster on Popjustice (who had info about the producers etc) posted the following and it makes a lot of sense: "What a negative way of looking at things. I'm not even a massive Burke fan, but from what I've heard it's more a case of there's two amazing songs that they can't decide what to lead with, rather than desperately searching for a single. It's between the Benny Benassi song and and the Eric Morillo song. The last I was told, it was the latter song that was going to be the single." |

Double A-sided single please!
![]() It's possible that they have an X Factor promo slot secured and are holding off for that too. |

As universtipping posted, one of the posters on pj who spoke to Alex has said they have two amazing singles to choose from. When they can't decide the lead it's very easy to assume that there is nothing that stands out, but in reality none of us know the quality of the material she has recorded. |

If Beautiful People is anything to go by, I have no idea why they are sitting on that Benny Benassi track...
I have a feeling the Morillo track is the infamous 'Elephant' but it looks like this decision is hard one for the team judging by the delays... Surely if they couldn't decide between them then they could just drop both the singles in quick succession i.e Single 1 in October and Single 2 in January with the album in between. If both songs are as strong as they say they are then this wouldn't hurt would it? |

Let's hope they do something along these lines. I think I can wait for the album provided that we get the single in the next while.
I know it's been delayed again but surely we'd still be expecting it before the end of the month? If they get either single out asap, then there's still time for promo and an X Factor slot (which she'll get, given that she launched this series), plus the album pretty soon after... She could then start performing single 2 as early as December, ensuring that it gets maximum exposure on TOTP plus get a video out just before Christmas. This means that there is no gap between releases, so it seems like she is releasing single after single...a few more performances, and then a release in January just after the X Factor effect wears off to increase the chance of a #1... |

When they can't decide the lead it's very easy to assume that there is nothing that stands out, but in reality none of us know the quality of the material she has recorded. There has to be one with a better hook, a better melody. Even if they both sound like hits. A&R are meant to make these decisions quickly and efficiently... singles are picked just by hearing a rough demo ( which is what happened with Bad Boys)...they'd know by now without the need to mix it to death. Having 2 songs that are as "good" as eachother for a lead is unheard off for an A&R team who know what they are doing....they should be completely in tune with what will work best...if they can't do that, they're simply incompetent... and the whole project might go tits up. Depending on how savvy some labels are...many deliberately choose to release a stronger track for the 2nd single as a way to help sustain album sales for longer.... Anyway, PJ is full of "insiders"....why would Alex reveal to some random person what's going on with her single release?. Either way having 2 strong tracks is no excuse for delays with the Q4 fast approaching....it just doesn't make sense...provided they actually do want to take advantage of the Christmas period sales |

Liya, if they were deciding between a RedOne and Autumn Rowe track I would be worried.
Whichever one it is, a Benny Benassi or Eric Morillo track will deliver. |

She will have to release the single in Q4 now given the delays, which is what I was hoping they would avoid given the multitude of releases...
I guess we'll just have to wait until they decide it's ready... |

No 2 songs can be as good as the other, as radio friendly, as instant.
