I like this version and the very first version that leaked but I don't really like the instrumental on the latest version that leaked. It's too generic imo. I really hope they stick with either version 1 or 2 but that is very unlikely.
I like the first mid-tempo version that leaked, but the production was a bit dated. Of the other two, I think the latest version had a bit more oomph about it. This one sounds a bit flat compared.

I hope they go with the latest version of Perfect over the Silence. I know TS is a fan favourite and I love it too, but it's over-produced. It's the sort of thing I could imagine Jennifer Rush singing in the 80s. Perfect would have a much better chance of radio support. I can even imagine Radio 1 might play it, but they wouldn't play the Silence.

Radio one wont play any of Alex's songs unless they are forced to

I know TS does sounded like an 80's throwback, but I'm not that fond of todays music so maybe that's why I probably really like the silence.

Thanks again for the welcomes I hope she can get promo in and extend her chart topping another week, that would be the ultimate slap to the face for Radio 1!

All this SWY business made me want to sing it, so here's me being a retard (well, at least my torso and mouth, haha)~ http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxUUzOU3ZM0 I'm not a great vocalist and it's low quality, but yaaay for SWY x

That was alright, I admire that you have the confidence to do something like that.

LOL!

Efff-ing amazing!

I remember after she won X-Factor, some people on DS saying Alex wasn't "good looking" enough to be marketed as a sexy popstar, or to get any sort of fashion deals or high end fashion coverage. Now she's signed to one of the biggest model agencies in the world, who want her to model "high end fashion". You couldn't make this up.

Of all Alex's haters, this will really stick in the neck of Toya the most. She spent the first 9 months of Alex's career claiming she wasn't photogenic. Obviously she's photogenic enough for one of the top modelling agencies in the world.

So Alex could be appearing on the cover of Vogue as opposed to the X-Factor magazine? What a come-down.

I too remember the many threads discussing how 'average' her looks were and this would greatly affect her chances of being a successful popstar. And when the D & G deal was announced many people tried to downplay it. The comment in that article that this could propel Alex into x-factors biggest global star will send certain people into meltdown.

A lot of her detractors were also taking the mick out of her doing a Deo advert, so who's laughing now? Seriously though, the good thing about this is that it will set Alex up very nicely financially, even if the music career doesn't last. To be honest, it looks increasingly likely that Alex's career is going to go up and not down.

While this is great news for Alex, it's not wise to bait the haters.

Let's be realistic here. It's great to be proud of Alex's achievements and I definitely am but boasting about it and baiting the haters won't do Alex any favours in the long run. Maybe you shouldn't refer to Toya and Arsene constantly.

I agree. Whatever happens in the future music wise she'll be fine.
She's done a great jof promoting hersef over the last year, met a lot of people from all walks and I'm sure that her personality, enthusiasm, professionalism and work ethic will have impressed and will open a lot of doors for her when the time comes.

Does anyone else think that Alex should/could get a role in a film in the not-too-distant future?

I would love her to do a film similar to Scream. Maybe she could get a role in Scream 5.

I would also love her to be in a romantic tragedy like 'Titanic' or 'Romeo + Juliet'.

She seems like she'd do well at acting. She has that confidence. Maybe something will happen a few years down the line.

This weeks chart was from Sunday 12 am (lasr week) to sun 12 am (this morning) so she will be number one this week.

Great news about the modelling contract. Alex is making her money! Plus it's a nice slap in the face for the haters.

Especially that b***h Toya, who seems to think Alex is a drag queen act

So excited to see she's held on to the top spot, I just want more info on the re-release and next single now

That modelling agency she has signed to is one of the top in the world. It's the prize now on the latest series of America's Next Top Model...it's BIG! Things like this will ensure that interest in her stays high and her profile stays raised, obviously resulting in more interest in her and her music. I have to admit, Alex isn't really model material. She photographs very, very well in some photos, but she's not model material. Because of this, I'm thinking they may have signed her up because they've got her in mind to front some sort of campaign for something. Also, if she makes it in the U.S, the fact that she's signed to this agency will ensure that she's on the covers of the top magazines, doing really good high fashion shoots etc, which will get her noticed over there in America.

Great to hear about the modelling contract! I have to agree that she's not model material, as shown by her photoshoots. She's a very beautiful girl who looks better with the more natural look and with less make up (as demonstrated by her Sure advert). It should help her get noticed worldwide and bring in a bit of extra money too, which is always great! With the Sure advert, the tour and now this, she should have plenty of money coming in soon.

Yes, and further to all the business connections etc she has also been involved in quite a few charity ventures. Obviously there has been the high profile Haiti ventures and up-coming Inca Trail but there's been more. That's why I get so annoyed when some people try to imply that she is only in it for the fame.

Don't want to be rude, but as long as it's relevant to Alex (and Arsene and Toya are, like it or not), then I'll talk about whom and what I like on this thread. I really don't give a toss if it it bothers the "haters". I barely talk about Toya anyway. When Toya is still running around calling Alex John Fashnu in drag, I'm very happy to "bait" her about Alex getting a modelling contract. Arsene will always be a topic of conversation here, till she stops posting altogether on Alex threads, which will never happen. You can't change that. And you can't live in fear of these idiots....not talking about them won't stop them hating on Alex, that's for sure. If you can't boast about Alex and her achievements on her appreciation thread, then something is very wrong indeed. Besides, it's a bit more on topic than talking about GCSE exams for half a dozen pages, which we were all willing to let slide (congrats to those would did well, btw).

Judging by the general reaction here to the news, I think most people here don't mind calling out the haters when Alex proves them wrong. Which is often.LOL!

Lets not start anything again. Cheers.

Also, welcome to neonali.

Funnily enough that's the one thing that still gets to me now. She comes in for a fair bit of flak ( unfairly in most cases ) and it mostly just washes over me, but when it's said that she's fake or up herself or doing whatever to draw the spotlight onto herself it fair makes my blood boil.

People are entitled to their opinion but I believe they're just plain wrong with those accusations. She's lovely girl and completely genuine as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks Stargirl and myoldmate And thanks for the welcome boxfresh

I don't get when people say Alex's not pretty enough. I think she's beautiful! I generally don't find black people attractive (not in a racist way, just taste wise) but I still think she's really pretty. Definitely agree she looks better with a natural look. (The Wonderland shoot was a mistake in my opinion, for example. Another really obvious one to me would be her Sure ad - to me she looks 1000x better before they do her up! I digress...)

Also with the Toya/Arsene business, I don't get why people take them so seriously? They don't really matter and I don't actually see Arsene as being that bad from what I've seen. Probably just comes across the wrong way.

Anyway, really happy for Alex's deal What's happened with her D&G business?
