I'm excited this is kind of introducing her to the American audience, so the song has to be fierce!!

It's a good way to introduce her to the U.S. They'll get a little taste.

Let's hope this Swizz track is good...it will certainly get a key audience in the US interested in Alex...

Plus, all the American blogs post about Alex and Swizz, so a collaboration will certainly grab their attention and generate some hype...

Though, I hope Syco/Epic don't think that one collaboration will be enough to get her noticed over there (unless it blows up of course), she needs to start being featured in X Factor US promo features, and she needs to do more US blog interviews...

Alex really needs to drop a snippet or something of the lead single, I'm really hoping the best - I swear to god, If I'm dissapointed I will literally cry!

She has to atleast match a song the same quality of bad boys if not better... Bad boys was a proper banger which got everyone singing/dancing!

She needs to come back with a BANG!
DROP A SNIPPET OR SOMETHING ALEX FOR YOUR FANS!

Still here, but waiting for something to happen.

Thank goodness she seems to be working closely with Rico Love. All Night Long is by far the best thing she has done. I was worried we would be getting more cheesy pop from RedOne but I wouldn't be surprised if nothing by him makes the final cut, as she seems to be going in a completely different direction with this album.

Looking forward to the first single. From what Rico Love said it will be another uptempo club banger, without the cheesy 'Start Without You' vibe, although I do love that song.

Same, I loved start without you!
but there is no denying it, it was a cheesy song.

I really want some kind of information on the single... a title or something.

Alex has been so secrative with everything on album #2 really, we need something to keep us going!

I'm guessing it'll premier within next month...

Lol the mention of Start Without You made me wanna play it. Haven't heard it in aggeesssss.

I loved the Ustream she done the other not and I can't till we hear her single. I think an R&B sound would really suit her as she has that soulful voice, still love some dance songs though. A good mix would be best I think.

It's no surprise that she's going down the R&B route if she's planning on breaking America with this album.

Although she needs to be cautious that electro-pop is actually on the rise over there ('On the Floor', GaGa, Britney, Katy Perry's four #1s etc). But I have heard US radio is racially ignorant and might not playlist Alex if she's singing electro-pop since R&B stations and Pop stations won't know if she's right for each station. Also, I'm aware I could have explained that better.

Just wondering, what are people hoping for in terms of what songs from her debut making her US debut album? I'm thinking only 'All Night Long', 'The Silence'/'Overcome' and 'Goodnight Good Morning'.

I think the album will be rnb tinged pop, but at its heart will be a pop album.

Alexandra is in Northern Ireland on 25th June at Party On The Beach, Portrush which is basically like a Northern Ireland equivalent of T4 On The Beach in a way. Don't know if I'm going to be able to go but really hope to even if I would have to endure The Wanted and Lloyd Daniels.

You should, I saw her in Dublin and it was amazing!

Thanks for the heads up.

So that must mean Alex's single should be dropping early June then? Isn't she doing the IoW festivals around June 11th? If so, she surely wouldn't be performing old hits, would she?

Also, I think it might be possible that Alex will be a future name added to Radio 1's Hackney Weekend 2012 which is R1's biggest free festival. Like Leona and Plan B, she's from Hackney and successful so I think it could be possible - unless the playlist organisers are organising this event.

Oh there you are

Totally agree with you regarding RedOne and his Europop stuff...

I'm glad that she is sticking with Rico Love, he knows a lot of very good producers and artists, and so can put her in touch with some good people...

I'm hoping that the RnB gives her a more mature sound...she could do with that, especially if she is going to the US with this album...

Broken Heels/Start Without You style tracks would not do her any favours...

I do think she should do a Bad Boys part II style track...i.e Same theme, different title but same artists...then she could re-team up with Flo-Rida, D.Guetta could produce the track, and it could be a monster smash...

Anybody called "The Mistress" sounds like they would be awful.

I'm wondering what effect, if any, Cheryl Cole's axing from US X-Factor might have on Alexandra's prospects.

To me it seems like it might be a positive thing. Simon Cowell has seemed more focused on promoting Cheryl's career in America than his own potentially massive breakthrough act like Alex (whom he barely mentions). Now that it looks unlikely that Cheryl will get a big launch as a solo superstar in the States off the back of the show, Cowell has to start looking at his own acts again and prioritising them in America, to show that UK X-Factor has produced great acts.

I'm not holding my breath, but it would be nice if Cowell used his full range of media connections to promote Alex in America. If Cheryl was launching a US solo career at the same time, Simon would defintely invest more energy in using his connections to promote her.

I don't think there'll be any problem with Alex getting on the US XFactor, Leona's been asked to perform and that will be partially down to re-launching her stateside after Echo's not-so-great Era over there, and also as a success story.

They'll need to show that they can produce more than one star and I think globally, this year is gonna be good for Alex! They can release hopefully a more, 'evolved' album, if that's the correct phrase for it, and something which will have WW smash singles on. And that'll give her a good platform to release her US album a few months after the UK release, I think it'd work perfectly and business wise - it'd work out for Cowell, too.

I just need me s'more Alexandra asap!!

Oh, I figured Alex would probably get a US X-Factor slot, even while Cheryl was still judging. For Simon, that's the bare minumum he would do for Alex. I expect JLS and Cher Lloyd to get performing slots as well. And probably other Syco acts like One Direction and Matt Cardle. I'm not sure slots will be difficult to come by for many UK X-Factor related acts.

I just don't think that's enough. So maybe in Simon's mind it is. In America, you need to put the work in. Dozens of shows, radio appearences, getting played on radio, live appearences etc. Will Young had the exit song for an entire season of American idol last year, and also performed on the show, but it did not make him a "name" in America.

If Simon feels he's fufilling his duties to Alex by giving her a US X-Factor slot and just leaving it at that, then he's selling her short.

I think she's easily his best hope for proper US stardom of his current crop, but he seemed more convinced of Cheryl's impending US superstardom because of how easily she gets by on her looks in the UK, despite not being the most talented of acts.

As she did in the UK, Alex will have to put in most of the legwork herself, because Simon won't break his back for her. Her promotion in Europe was weak, and that was down to Syco. Of course, if Alex does crack America, chances are Simon will start talking about her all the time. But I feel he'll give her the bare minumum, which is a US X-Factor slot.

It'll really be down to how well Epic US promote her. If they start cutting corners and getting cheap like Syco did, halfway into the Overcome era, then she's in trouble. Syco want international superstars, but they don't want to spend the type of money needed to invest in one.

Think you summed it up there! You actually have some good points, Although I think Epic won't be as half-arsed as Syco tends to be. i'm hoping not anyway, I mean they have MJ on their books (well, you know what I mean ha) so they'll have the money haha.

It could be the case that this album is better than the first, and sales will show that too. I hope that's the case because while I really enjoyed Overcome (and still do!) I feel like there could be some really fierce, RnB style songs to come from Alex over the next few years.

There were several rumours a month ago that L.A Reid might become the new chairman of Epic US because of his move to XF.

She needs to have a single out around September in the US if they're planning on giving her a slot and it needs to smash on radio first, before anything. Simon isn't as powerful as some might think. Cheryl being axed from the panel shows this and i don't think he'll be allowed to promote his acts on the show unless they show they can have a solid hit on radio.
