One year on and with dedication and hard work she has slowly but surely started to win over the public again. This latest endorsement shows that a top modelling agency have faith in her ability to connect with all types of women. They mentioned her 'universal appeal'.

Also, I think that they are going to market Alex as an all round performer in the US as opposed to a vocalist like Leona, and she has come a long way in the last year with regards her skill in working the crowd and putting on a great live performance. You just need to compare her first performance of Bad Boys on the x-factor last year with recent ones and it is night and day. And whilst her performance on x-factor was great, no way was it up to US standards. She has her tour to further hone her skills and then can think about launching in the States.

I think overall the fact that they have not rushed her over there and are allowing her time to develop and cement her fanbase in the UK shows that they are looking at her as a long-term investment.

The modelling gig has already begun! Can also win a signed CD of Overcome.”

Wow thanks for spoiling it for those who don't want to read spoilers.

He sounded gutted/confused and announced it as a non mover instead of saying #1...played the chorus against Iko Iko yet again ...and then said the song was getting a lot of love from the listeners...he then pretended to go through "pages" of texts of people hating the song in order to find one positive text message.

I also didn't like the way they played her winning moment on Xfactor during the chart show on Sunday just before they played the track...as if to say that the only reason she got their was because of the show. Then someone sent a text in saying she loved her hairstyle and the presenter said it wasn't hers.

I bet they'll gloat like mad on Sunday/Monday that it has fallen a few places...I guess it's safe to say she'll never make their playlist ever...but just watch Alex care while she racks up her #1's

I actually can't believe how childish that lot at R1 are! I mean, what on Earth? REALLY? *huff puff*

I can tell that shot would have been great but they haven't directed her well and the lighting seems a bit off...maybe it's just that copy of the picture though, there must be a better one somewhere. Alex is better without heavy makeup though. I think she usually looks best with a pale peachy/creamy eye shadow and a moderate amount of mascara, that tends to make her look freshest and bring out her eyes, I think. And the lipstick probably shouldn't be too overbearing.

I realise I sound like a critical nagger but seriously, sometimes these professional makeup artists/ photographers! Feels like I could do a better job sometimes! *cough* haha

Where do we predict SWY will be this week? I'm going for #4.

R1 are making a joke of themselves, showing themselves up as bitter sad control freaks. Unfortunately they don't control the charts anymore, and all these presenters cussing down Alex is just them throwing their toys out the pram. They can do that all they want but it won't stop Alex topping the charts

I think SWY will hold on to a top 5 position, I don't see it falling drastically I think #4/#5 is a realistic position now, especially in light of Bruno Mars and other new releases heading high up the charts.

Oh, to anyone that hasn't already, vote 4 Alex as 'Best Push Act' at this year's MTV EMA's (http://ema.mtv.co.uk/artists/alexandra-burke), and make sure at least 1 European artist gets some recognition

Welcome Jigsaw Mystery

SWY sold about 53,000 last week so is on about 126k as of sunday last week.

SWY down to 6 in the midweeks but that was to be expected.

Overcome at 38 in the midweeks so still in the top 40.

Still #6 on iTunes. I'm surprised Taio is still holding up well. It wouldn't surprise me if R1 have STILL A-Listed Taio, Katy and The Script just to ensure they overtake Alex. That's about 5 weeks for Taio now. Anyway when it charts at #6 on Sunday I can just hear R1 saying A MASSIVE fall of 5 places.

I think this might be the clearer picture you were referring to

I see what you mean, the make up does her little justice because it's all pastel colours that don't work brilliantly with her skin or the lighting. But the clearer picture in the link above is more flattering than the other one posted. To be fair, it is the Daily Mail and thus not as creative and fashion forward as say Vogue/Harpers Bazaar, and the presence of Hilary Alexander (the overhyped stylist that people who watch Britain's Next Top Model would have heard of) was probably the reason the shot came out flat because the woman is useless! Given all of this, it's not a bad picture.

And as for Radio 1, I am past caring what they have to say because like I've said before, you can't fluke two weeks at number one, unless you drop completely out of the charts the week after, especially when you haven't had the advantage of being featured on the playlist that provides the biggest source of national exposure as all of the other artists in the top 10 have. With SWY set to stay in the top ten for another week, it's popularity is undeniable. End of. It's had an even better run than ANL, although we'll put that down to the fact that people already had the main version on the album. In fact, I've just checked itunes and it's back at #5, so once the hype of the newer releases dies down it may even creep back into the top 5 (I'm tempted to buy it again just to keep it's fire alive and have Radio 1 seething even more!)

On a more positive note, Alex has been confirmed to perform at T4s 'Stars of 2010' on November 21st, which is around the time of the re-release of Overcome so this is good exposure at the time hype for the album will be high. One thing we can be glad about is that T4 actually appreciates Alex and never snubs her when it comes to their events or the 4music channel so they clearly have their heads screwed on. Although, they have banned Alfie from attending the event... poor soul http://www.mirror.co.uk/celebs/news/...5875-22581654/

If the deluxe is being released on the 29th...the single will be due on the 22nd i reckon. Olly will likely release his single on the same date as his debut album is out a week later.

I guess it's safe to assume we'll get a bunch of leaks on the re-issue. It would be quite disappointing.

Not necessarily. I'm still holding out for the duet with the group to be a brand new track.

It's actually a good thing SWY is starting to trail off now. It has done really well and with a new single due in 2 months time...the campaign for that and the re-release should start very soon after Alex comes back from Peru

I was just in HMV and they were playing 'Good Night, Good Morning'. I would loved to ahve seen a video with Alex and Ne-Yo for that, but I doubt we'll ever get one . I love Alex's voice on it and it's such an underrated track. As for SWY slipping...it got 2 weeks at number one and that can't be disputed!!! I don't even think the track deserved to be number one, but for teh sake of Alex and her career, I'm happy it was.

Any news on Overcome in the midweeks today?

That's what I love about working there, getting to pick the playlist haha. I think I'm going to put Alex, Leona and Janelle Monae on tomorrow. Make it an awesome girl playlist day

I can't wait till we get the re-release in either, it's been horrible not being able to play SWY on the shop floor

It's a shame you can't play any leaks I hope SWY maintains a top 5 position on Sunday, R1 will be fuming that she's managed to keep a decent position for so long...

BTW, when is she leaving for the Inca Trail??

Do we know how well the tickets for the tour are doing? Has anywhere sold out yet? I know a couple of places had sold out 2 weeks ago when Alex was doing a radio interview, so I'm guessing more must have by now?
