Having Whitechapel going against Spooks has turned out to be a bad move by ITV.

The scene where the plane crashed in that episode was unintentionally hilarious, because the plane's exterior looked as though it had been made out of an old-fashioned washing-up liquid bottle.
The aftermath interior scenes were good, but they probably shouldn't have bothered showing the moment of impact of said washing-up liquid bottle crashing into a lump of turf.

I'm not too sure if it is safe to say that this season is about some returning shows either growing to new highs or potentially making a comeback. None of the new shows are growing or even talked about in a hyped way. Nice to see Castle growing very well for their numbers (even with finals adjustment, it is very likely to remain around 11m with 18-49 numbers unchanged). Week five and ABC is already making CBS nervous with their Hawaii 5-0 reboot being closely caught up by Castle.

Have they got anything lined up for 10pm though, as the comedy cupboard has been pretty bare this year?
Therefore I'd say R&C at 9pm and TRF at 10pm.

I'd imagine every primetime programme on BBC One and BBC Two, except news and other live shows, will get repeated in primetime, either in the week of transmission, or within 12 months of the first broadcast. A bit like the 1980s in the latter respect, I suppose.

It will cost ITV £50m - but that doesn't mean thats how much it costs to make. Syco, Talkback, etc will all get profits.
I think £50m is probably about right, given that its been rumoured to be £1m per episode for a few years now and while there aren't 50 episodes, there are 30-something and many of them are lasting 2 hours now.
Most interesting thing in that interview I thought is that FOX are actually BUILDING a studio three times the size of Fountain - its going to hold 2,500 people - that's equivalent to the audition shows over here.

Yeah, that bit definitely seems out. Cowell is quoted as saying $2.4m a week = £1.6m which fits in with recent estimations. I'm not sure how they added that up to find £50m.
They'll also have some kind of license fee to pay Syco/Talkback plus Cowell's salary (around £5m for XF alone). But £50m still seems to be pushing it.
Shame Studio Five is still doing so badly. It's hugely improved in its 30 minute slot and I think Jayne and whatsherface come across really well.

The series so far has timeshifted about 1.4m. So we could be looking at a 4.3-4.5m finalised figure (inc. +1).

News just in that NBC have given a full season pick-up for both Chuck and Chase. Why on earth are they giving Chase a full season when it's getting figures hovering at 1.6?! Don't they have any midseason replacements lined up!

I know I said yesterday it was unlikely, but after reading that interview and finding out that he's building a massive X Factor set in LA and having some of his XFUK staff working on the US version, maybe they will have the XFUK take place over there especially if Cheryl is involved in the US version too.

Yep, the £50m cost figure for TXF is most likely wrong, although with BGT included it could be close to that mark altogether. Also in terms of ad revenue, it definitely makes more than £50m - more like double that in fact!
