Can't remember last week's figure, but I think that's very slightly up on last week at best - but no real advance?

Seems to have plateaued despite the blanket coverage (even The Daily Mail has whatsername on the front page...). Not making the big weekly leaps forward it was last year.
Last weeks figure was 13.4m. This week is up 0.2m from last years episode. The current overnight series average stands at 11.9m. At the same stage last year it was 11.0m. So it's up nearly 1m on average.

Also last nights episode is the second most watched episode of the series so far just behind Judges Houses 2 which averaged 14.1m.

Another astonishing rating for XF, but I don't think there's been as much hype about the Sunday shows as there was last year. I think the only reason this years shows are up is because of the boost the auditions stage got. Last years Sunday shows were the first time XF had aired live on Sundays and it was event television. It was also on the back of a very successful year with Alexandra and JLS, plus it was the start of Cheryl's solo career. This year the guests have included Joe, who as we've seen hasn't made an impact on the charts really. Last year a guest performance would almost guarantee you a no1 single and they had a fantastic calibre of guests (Black Eyed Peas, Lady GaGa, Queen, Cheryl with her first single). This year (so far) just seems tame in comparison imo. Obviously there's still a lot of time to find great guests, but it's the one thing letting the show down imo currently. The music charts also looked much healthier this time last year-this year there doesn't seem to be as many standout songs.

Another fantastic performance for Downton, matching Doc Martins figures despite being a new drama! The Cube is also doing excellently considering it's up against SCD and after consideration I think it was a good idea of ITV to put a new gameshow in the 7pm slot, because the schedules are crying out for a new hit gameshow imo. But it wasn't a wise move to dump ASFF at 6pm on Saturdays. This should be kept for January.

Also wasnt it around this time last year that the Jedward obsession really started to take off? I remember there was a peak with that and a reduction when they got dumped.

Looks like there might be some mistakes in ITV1 HD Top 10 for w/e 17/10/10.

Why is there Taggart and Film: Two Weeks Notice featured when these weren't show on ITV1 HD for that week? I mean the film is when the England game was on and Taggart is down in DA's place surely?

I think those were the programmes which were airing on STV at that particular time. Yep, they shouldn't be in the Top 10s. I think the HD figures for Downton Abbey and the England match are correct.

So why have BARB listed them in the Top 10? Do they normally do this for STV stuff or is this just another mistake?

They've been doing it recently for about the last couple of months for some reason. A series of mistakes.

Another brilliant rating for Countryfile, I still find it really surprise some are actually suggesting moving this back to daytime with 7m viewing figures. Strictly did just as well, even up on 2008! Single Father didn't do as well though, a bit of a drop compared to last week.

Solid enough for BBC2, high rating for Match of the Day 2, not particularly sure why though - wasn't no shockers yesterday in the Premiership so I'm not sure why it was that high.

Very good night for ITV, slightly on last week. Although I'm not sure they'll be too pleased with the effect The Cube/Family Fortunes swap has had, but there again - you could argue that had The Cube been on at 18:00 on Saturday, it would have been even lower than Family Fortunes' current figures.

Channel 4 did alright I suppose, while I'm still wondering just why Bad Santa is on in October. I know its 2 months till Christmas today, but still...

Gillette Soccer Saturday (Sat 16 Oct) - 541,000

Compares to "benchmarks" of 641,000 and 660,000 in the last two weeks when it was still available on Freeview back in August.

Remember all those predictions about what would happen to GSS / SSN when it went Pay?

Sky posted exceptionally strong quarterly results last week beating all analysts' expectations - who is to say how much the decision to take SSN Pay contributed? We don't know but it may well have been a significant factor.

That is outrageous. Didn't realise it was that high. Surely that makes it the most successful original series on a multichannel ever?

What does everyone think for The Million Pound Drop tonight? I have a feeling it will stall at around 2m now the novelty has worn off.
