IITWI, Casualty and Comedy Roadshow have been extremely solid in the 4m range.

Lord Sugar is scheduled to appear on Daybreak on Wedneday himself, although that wont do anything to The Apprentice's ratings as no one will be watching.

Another format I think could fill the void for C4 is "Tonne of Cash", where two teams of contestants are given a "tonne of cash" in the middle of a desert some way and have to get the cash home.
One day I want to sit in on a brainstorm session at Endemol HQ. Where do they think of this stuff from?

I reckon Comedy Roadshow would be doing better if the Beeb hadn't repeated Comedy Roadshow and Apollo to death. People just assume they've seen them. 4.4m is a disappointment compared to how well s1 did.
ITV of course have "New You've Been Framed". Maybe they should also have "New Midsomer Murders" as this seems to be another programme where people are unsure if they're watching a repeat or anew episode. Comedy Roadshow probably did better in series 1 because it was often on against Mumbai Calling. In the 21st century ITV1 sitcom = low, low ratings. Benidorm is the exception that proves the rule. |

The real 5 minute peak for last night for X Factor was 13.5m.

I thought Paul O'Grady was popular with many age ranges?
You are going on about demographics again in a snobbish manner. AB viewers probably watch very little TV at all and C2DE viewers probably make up most of the country Why did ITV want P O'G back and in prime time if all his viewers are so unattractive to advertisers? It might be interesting to some people, but as a demographic I would fall into male, middle aged C2. |

Any predictions for the Delhi Opening Ceremony? Miserable day here, so if that's the case UK wide could boost numbers - I'd guess somewhere between 4-5m, but considering there is no such thing as bad publicity I wonder if it might edge towards 6m. On the other hand though, could just as easily be 3m.

a very impressive start for Strictly, not often you see 9m ratings on a Friday. Looking back Afterlife almost at 4m, I bet ITV wish they could get that now. Prisoners ratings most have been totally humilating for them.
As for Daybreak I am aware its Friday so ive looked at the shares Wednesday - Daybreak 0.7m (17.8%) Thursday - Daybreak 0.8m (19.0%) Friday - Daybreak: 0.67m (16.2%) its share is down as well. Adrian & Christine weren't presenting on Wednesday and Thursday and nothing was made of it. Thursday seen a comparative surge both in raw figures and shares whilst Friday plumetted to an all time low with the return of Adrian & Christine. Coincidence? Anyone know the AI's for the last week? The Lorraine rating was poor too but Sharon Osbourne was presenting. The Friday show really isn't working, I think they should just go back to Monday-Thursday with an extended Daybreak on Fridays. Perhaps they could even bring back Entertainment Today (but not the name) with Kate and that other entertainment correspondent hosting it. Quote:
Comparison to the same Friday two years ago:
06:00- Breakfast: 1.08m 06:00-07:00: GMTV News Hour: 0.49m 07:00-09:25: GMTV: 1.10m Breakfast is up 41% (which is brilliant). ITV breakfast schedule (6-9.25am) is down 19%. FYI, Homes Under the Hammer is up 36%, Jeremy Kyle up 10%, This Morning up 15%, Loose Women down 5%. ITV's best bet is to axe the 5.30am news and air ITV Newshour from 6-7am, Daybreak from 7am-8.30am and Lorraine from 8.30am-9.25am.They could probably expect ratings similar to 0.5m for the first hour and 1m for the rest, but that looks better than 0.8m for the entire morning. In other ratings news, great nights for both BBC1 and ITV1, Strictly and X Factor have both clearly benefitted from being on at their more recognisable time (Strictly was always around 6pm with X Factor around 7.30pm until last year). Channel 4 did quite well too by their Saturday standards, but they really need a direction for Saturdays because there seems a bit of 'nothingness' around their schedule. |

The BBC have been emphasising "Brand New" in the trailers for both Comedy Roadshow and Inspector George Gently. They've also renamed new editions of Total Wipeout "All New Total Wipeout".

Having just watched Thursday's hilarious Trinny and Susannah mock-doc, about two washed up stars who ditched their successful BBC career for more cash but a string of flops at ITV, I wonder if there will be a follow up in 12 months time for Adrian and Christine?

I wonder if it will get good ratings on ABC.
The ratings do seem to be creeping up as it nears the end, something I hope to see continue. It would be nice if it could crack 1m for the finale. I think they are making a night of it and showing the ITV1 documentary Farewell The Bill as well, so it will get a good send off at least. Also will be fascinating to see what ABC replace it with. I guess they could put something like Midsomer Murders there as that always seems to rate well. |

Good for the two talent shows, but very poor for Family Fortunes. Merlin's share took a little knock, but it always does when it begins at exactly the same time as Factor.
With 14 couples' dances split over two Strictly shows this weekend, it seems strange to have 14 couples dancing in one edition next Saturday. It will be heavy going for the viewers, nearly as long as some of last year's mammoth editions! Shame there are no strong half-hour shows in BBC One's Saturday night: they could have used one as an interval show in a split SCD. |

Why have BBC1 placed Who Do You Think You Are? tonight at 10.25? Surely the viewing figures will decrease putting it there? It's a new episode too?
