Brilliant rating once again for EE, with another 9m+. Holby City also held up very well considering it was up against some tough competition.

A bit low for the football. Was expecting it to get about 6.5m like the last Qualifier, although with HD included it might've got 6m. Looks like the half hour period against EE dented the average somewhat.

“C4

Ramsey BR - 1.48m
Seven Days - 577k”

Poor set of ratings once again. Wedding House is another new flop for C4, and another series low for Seven Days.

Did BBC3 come third at 22:00?

C5 would've probably beaten it with CSI: NY, so I think BBC3 would've been 4th.

Edit: Yep, C5 beat BBC3 with 1.35m for CSI: NY. Fourth place is still really good for BBC3.

Cool I liked that show, and Channel4 need something to prop up the schedule at the minute.

Basically a comfortable win for BBC News, even more impressive when you consider the fact it was all simulcast on BBC One & BBC Two from 11:40pm onwards.

Oh, that's handy! I wonder what the plan was had Seven Days become a hit? 9pm maybe for one week?

They might as well leave it there now.

I think its for the best if they leave it there. C4 seems to have become lost since the end of Big Brother. I know BB is never on this time of year, but i do wonder if their decision to axe BB has turned people away.

They need a good boost from something. The MPD is good though so glad its back.

I don't think BB has much to do with Channel 4's current ratings slump to be honest. Some fans might be angry about its cancellation but few could argue that they gave it a great 10 years and treated it well in that time. I think any kind of boycott over that would be very very small, too small to be even represented in the ratings data.

I think it's just a difficult period generally for them. They've tried launching lots of new shows at once and the hit rate hasn't been very high. The likes of Wedding House have been done better elsewhere, such as Don't Tell The Bride on BBC Three. As well as that some former C4 favourites like Ramsay and Come Dine With Me haven't been doing as well as they have done in the past. Only really Grand Designs and This is England stand out as hits from the past month or so.

They are pinning a lot on The Event to dig them out of this hole. Obviously I'm furious that they have scheduled it against The Mentalist on Five. But having seen the ratings in the U.S., I am starting to wonder if this one will take off here at all and I'm leaning towards this being another turkey at the minute, I really am.

A couple of ITV Press Centre updates:

- Agatha Christie's Poirot returns on Wednesday 27th October at 8pm for a new episode. It follows a one hour Emmerdale special.
- Monte Carlo or Bust, a 3-part travelogue, takes the Thursday 9pm slot from 28th October.

Any ideas what the 2-part drama(?) will be on ITV1 on 1st and 8th November to fill the Monday gap before I'm a Celebrity?

What is The Event ? Is it a drama, RTV show or a quiz show, when does it air? Thanks

The Little House, a 2x60' non-crime drama: http://www.itv.com/presscentre/press...e/default.html

It's a new US drama which will start on Friday 22nd October on Channel 4. Similar genre to Lost, FlashForward, etc.

U.S. Drama. Channel 4 have been promoting this one heavily for a number of weeks. One of their big October programming launches. Starts Oct 22 with a double bill. It faces New Tricks and The Mentalist for the first hour.

Wait... which clever clogs in Channel 4's scheduling department felt it necessary to launch it against New Tricks on the worst night of the week possible where the least amount of people are watching TV?

Another good night for EastEnders topping 9m for the second day running. OK for the football considering what a horrendous match it was (that's 2 hours of my life I'll never get back). I wish Fringe could do abit better for Sky1. It's a really good show, but I can see it's not really a programme you can dip in and out of!
