They've got a couple of comedies - Matthew Perry's Mr Sunshine and Happy Endings. Plus Body of Proof (starring Dana Delaney), Off The Map (from Shonda Rhimes) and V. Rookie Blue will also be ready for midseason but is more likely to end up in the summer again. And then there is reality fare including Secret Millionaire, Jamie Oliver's Food Revolution, Wipeout, Supernanny and Take The Money and Run. Not all of that can go on Fridays.
So come January, ABC can be pretty brutal and cut series after 13 episodes. Better With You is "on the bubble" just now, IMO. ABC have 2 options with their midseason comedies:
1. Create a new 1 hour block (but where?) and leave Wednesdays as they are
2. Put one in the 9.30pm slot after DWTS and put the other at 8.30pm on Wednesdays.
CBS have 2 midseason dramas and only one spot obviously cleared - Wednesdays at 10pm.”
My prediction for ABC Midseason Shows:
Monday 9:30pm - Mr Sunshine
Tuesday 10pm - Body of Proof (like how Castle is after DWTS performance show, I said Wednesday 10pm last time, but I think BoP will benefit more on Tuesdays)
Wednesday 10pm - V
Thursday 8pm - Happy Endings
Friday 8pm - Secret Millionaire (January)/Take The Money and Run (March)
Friday 9pm - Jamie's Food Revolution (January)/Supernanny (March)
Sunday 10pm - Off The Map (could be a midseason hit, just not as strong as Grey's (though retentions from Desperate Housewives could be very good) - If this does well, B&S could be moving to a new night or have B&S at fall, Off The Map at midseason, without much breaks).
As for Wipeout, either Fridays at 8pm or Sunday at 8pm. Rookie Blue is likely to air in the summer for their second season. They might need to bring higher-than-usual summer numbers to be considered for midseason.
