No Ordinary Family won't repeat well so that could take a midseason break for the Wipeout winter run.

Yeah, there's a lot of moves in there that make an awful lot of sense. A bit of ambition with switching up the schedule, rather than an overreliance on hits which are really ageing. They needn't implement all of that - but they've got to recognise that the same slots are failing for them year-on-year, and implementing a few of those switches gives them a chance to change that.
CBS have had the lions share of success this season - because they were ambitious, and went after days and slots that were traditionally weaker for them.

It's clear that viewers still turn to CNN for rolling news - MSNBC and Fox have really carved themselves a different niche, more as politically-themed, personality-led chat shows than anything else. CNN have tried to replicate that, but failed.
I saw interesting stats once about the total viewer 'reach' of the networks (ie. people who watched 5 minutes or more a week or whatever). On that basis, CNN actually matches - if not exceeds the others - it's just that their viewers simply dip in according to the news agenda. On Fox and MSNBC you have a smaller band of loyal fans who tune in for the shows each day. I'll try to dig them up from somewhere...
EDIT: Yep, found this out of a CNN Press Release for Q1 of this year:
Quote:
“CNN REACH
On an average monthly basis for Q1 2010, CNN again topped the competition with a reach of 104 million, ahead of FNC (94 million), MSNBC (90.2 million) and HLN (88.3 million).
In March, CNN remained ahead of all cable news competition in reach with 93.2 million viewers, followed by FNC (87.5 million), HLN (80.8 million) and MSNBC (78.7 million).”

Though I believe MSNBC began to top them in reach of 25-54 viewers over the summer.
