Since the .23 upgrade I have been plagued with lockups.

Quite often I will bring the unit out of standby, press the List button, then press right, scroll down to playlist, then select the one I want to watch.

At some point in the proceedings this will cause a lockup, or the unit does not respond to the remote.

My solution has been to put a remote control power socket in between the Humax and the mains. From the comfort of my armchair I can kill the mains power, reconnect the power, wait for the Humax to reboot and then carry on.

I would say that this is happening on average about once every 2 weeks, and I'm not a heavy user of the machine.

Perhaps with the new EPG population I'm just being too quick?

I don't think anyone else has reported a similar problem: maybe your machine is on the way out.

If your doing all thes actions instantly after coming out of standby then yes the unit is a bit sluggish.
Try waiting for about 45 seconds before pressing any buttons and see if you see an improvement.

Yes it's possible that these aren't 'real' lockups and the OP is being a little impatient when they appear to happen.

I agree, that is a distinct possibility.

Taking it a bit slower does seem less problematic.....
