Know this sounds slightly unrelated but just watched the very story of The Avengers today...or rather, wish I was able to as two thirds of it is actually missing and it made me realise how grateful we should be that we can watch the very first story of Doctor Who right through from beginning to end.

Then it seems really sad we have this really large chunk, mainly from Seasons 3-5 that we can't watch anymore, and Season 5 is a particular shame as it has some really great stories in it I'd love to watch, rather than listen to on audio.

I suspect we'd all love to watch The Tenth Planet Episode 4 if it were still around, but was wondering what other stories others would like to watch that's missing, if you think they'd live up to the audio and what your views on junking as a whole are, Doctor Who isn't the only show that's been affected by it.

I'd personally love to see the whole of The Web Of Fear. Based on the existing first episode, it looks good and we'd get to see the Brig's first episode in full!!!

The Web of Fear is the one I'd most like to see returned to the archives. Evil of the Daleks, Fury from the Deep, The Highlanders and The Dalek Masterplan would be in my top five.

Definitely The Evil Of The Daleks, often feel the audio doesn't really convey the last episode properly, would love to see that!!!

The Evil audio left me cold. I thought it was repetitive, padded and rubbish. Another black mute character. Loads of capture/escapes. Whole episodes of Jamie trying to rescue Victoria while narrowly avoiding blades falling from ceilings ... yawn ...

Who knows ... more old episodes may crop up. Robert Mugabe might have a sort out of his video collection. It's always been a jawdropping moment when anything turns up (remember Tomb of the Cybermen reappearing? That was quite a thrill).

I'd most love to see The Savages, i think. It might be less forgotten and might become truly loved if anyone had the chance to see it ...

I like The Savages too, I think it's a really powerful story for it's time, would love to see it as a full motion picture.

It's a shame the recent finds from America didn't yield anything from early Who.

When I read that a whole host of stuff from the 60s had been discovered I got very excited but all for nothing.

It's not nice having Mr. Mugabe keeping us over a barrel like this.

We need to start a Whovian Army and invade Zimbabwe , as I'm convinced Robert Mugabe has copies of all the missing episodes under lock and key

Worse mandates for invasion have been used ...

The American haul has some really special stuff in it, but no DW, alas.

I've always been a bit of a fan of the longer stories in the Hartnell/Troughton years, so I quite like to see The Dalek Master Plan

Based on the episodes that have been recently discovered, I'd like to see that as well, it's a good story all round.

I've written to Harriet Jones to table an early day motion calling for the invasion.

I think old Bobby Mugs also knows who River Song is already , thanks to the prototype Tardis he had built which acts as the secret bunker

I can vaguely remember watching all of them, but was such a long time ago!

web of fear WAS creepy, I can remember yeti in tunnels, and the brigadeer, but nothing about the story!

(added) a fave story was the celestial toymaker. Michael Gough was really good! I can rmember a big fuss about The Game being played - there was a cut-out version in Radio Times - and somebody worte in and said "Dr Who is super-intelligent? I completed The Game in 10 minutes!".

Web of fear was one of my favourite target novels when I was a kid.
If people really feel they're missing out on these early stories they could do worse than track down the novels.
Lets face it, even if Bob Mugabe were found to have a secret stash in his bunker, behind all the blood diamonds, they would be of pretty poor quality

The Web of Fear, Fury from the Deep, The Power of the Daleks, The Evil of the Daleks, Marco Polo, The Massacre and Tenth Planet 4 I'd like to see returned the most....

If that episode was ever recovered, The BBC would be well minted!!!! What a little goldmine that would be for them!!!!

It's very sad so many Troughtons have gone as he was a really excellent Doctor. However, junking was part of the TV culture in the 1960s and 1970s when videotapes were very expensive and it seemed to make sense at the time to use them again and save money.

I'm not sure if it gives you any crumb of comfort but I'm currently undertaking the arduous process of animating episode 4 of 'The Tenth Planet' should be ready by next summer hopefully
