what a shock! Its not war (just the end of love) enters chart at 28. Why do guitar bands not do well in the singles chart any more.

The album is out soon. That's the market the Manics are aiming for these days. The single is only there to promote the album which I confidently expect to debut MUCH higher.

The midweek album chart has them at number 1 - looks like I called it right

The singles chart is increasingly for the likes of The Saturdays and the X-Factor lot, so nothing to worry about if a single flops, especially from a known band.

I agree the Manics new album Post Cards From A Young Man is the best thing I have heard so far.But the lyrics on the album are amazing and sharp like cross between early Axl Roses and Joe Strummer. But sadly the charts are full of X-Factor flop and the men and ladies in suits what us to buy it but it's not selling and then fill it up with people like Justine and Katy. It's like the radio are putting the huss button on rock music and that's pan'ts check out Dinosuar Pile lucky if the even get in the charts.

I'm going to see them on October 31st- so excited!

They don't need chart success to validate them- they have a body of work that is near enough perfect to do that instead.
