Ok so we are a few weeks in.......I am firmly in the loving Scott and Natalie fan club......I wasnt sure about Scott in his introduction VT (I dont watch EE so didnt know him) I thought he might be a bit too much of the East End Wide boy type for me....but he is now coming across as quite a sweetheart....I was a bit worried about the 'dead Nan' section but thought he was great with his son on Saturday........add to that Natalie's fantastic coreography and that he can dance and they are a hit for me.

Great - eh?
The expressions on both their faces when Len and Bruno said it was the dance of the series so far, such sincere humility - allright shock

Loved this pairing, right from the start

I think Natalie is great and I loved the Ricky & Natalie partnership last year. Her choreography is fantastic, I love her competitive nature and strive for perfection I see nothing wrong in it. Surprisingly though I'm not warming to the Scott/Natalie partnership this year. I don't know why. I think it might be him. I don't really see a connection.

I know everyone loved it but their tango on Saturday did nothing for me. I thought they were overmarked (and that's coming from a fan of Natalie!). I didn't see the passion or the story so it didn't work for me. I did like their Cha Cha but again just felt they were going through the motions, didn't believe it.

They haven't done a Cha Cha?

Sorry, was it the Jive? They were dressed up as a cowboy and cowgirl.

Natalie is very clever with her choregraphy.
I didn't really warm to her partnership with Ricky last year but am loving her & Scott.

Difficult though it is to believe that was a Salsa.

Blooming 'eck, I'm rubbish

Suffice to say, I liked the dance but just not convinced yet of the partnership.

I adore Natalie. I was a bit Ricky & Natalie fan last year not just because he was awesome but I enjoyed her choreography, particularly that semi-final waltz which was just beeyootiful. I LOVED her and Ian together and their showdance on tour was divine. I love her even more this year, her routines (for me anyway) are great. The fact she wants to win? *shrugs* Its a competition innit? We all know its the winning that counts really, not the taking part!

What is wrong with the proffesionals saying they want to win?? They're in a competition for crying out loud!!

Yes, I know all about SCD being "entertainment", but it's entertainment based on competing.”

Well this IS Britain and I don't like her.....She'll definitely not win with scott. Too cocky by half

I've liked Natalie since her first series on the aussie dwts so never could understand why she got such a hard time on here last year. She tells all her partners she wants to make a professional out of them...even the duds she got. Don't know why she gets the scary tag either or would make people think her partners don't like her. Even her worst dancing partner (Ian Roberts) adored her - and gosh he was bad...enough to be nicknamed the 'dancing wardrobe'!

Perhaps it's a personal thing - because she scares the flamin' bejaysus out of me.

Perhaps they were scared to show anything else but pure submissive adoration?

She seems to deliberately draw attention away from her partners, the endless hair flicking and flash - and the determined, fixed face shark like grin also worries me.

She may be lovely though, I don't know her, and I'm sure kittens love her as much as she loves them, for the occasional snack like.

To be honest, I've never noticed her try to draw attention away. I've always thought she shows off her celebrity quite well.

I don't know her. Never met her. But I've watched the interview Ian Roberts did about his life and how much he loved his experience on dwts as it was a big deal for him. He was the first in aussie NRL to come out as gay and then getting to the final of dwts even though he was an awful dancer, and the feeling of acceptance from the aussie public he got from that, he had nothing but good things to say about Natalie and how hard she worked with him.

All I see from Natalie is a hard worker who is an immense choreographer. I also think she's quite beautiful so horses for courses and all that.

I don't know anything about this - but sounds like he got the sympathy vote, and that's fine, he was brave and went through a lot, but that doesn't necessarlyu have much to do with Natalie, if, as you say, he was an 'awful dancer'.

I'm sure she works very hard, and works her partners hard too - I just don't see much humour or lightness in her, more determined, unleavened competitiveness - which is, again, fine, if you like that sort of thing.

She's a decent enough choreographer, I grant you, and good looking in a hard sort of a way, but beautiful? Not for me.

Mind, that's in the eye of the beholder and all that.

Peace, we can't all like the same attitudes and types of people.

That's fine - but I thought she undeservedly got a hard time last year.

As for Ian Roberts, it was the sheer enjoyment on his face when he was dancing that got him through. He was awful week in week out but you could tell he and Natalie loved it.
I don't get the whole over-competitiveness but maybe it's because I've watched her for so long but even from series one I've never noticed it.

Natalie's quite full on but she does come up with some striking coreography, I've enjoyed most of her dances and I think her positivity and enthusiasm helps inspire her celebs. I quite like her.

I totally agree with you about Natalie and Ricky. She seems a bit different this year, I'm warming to her.

Her and Scott are one of my faves to win (2nd behind Matt and Aliona).

I LOVE her and the partnership. Ive never understood why so many dislike her. Her choreography is beautiful, she seems compleatly lovely. If i remember rightly Erin, Lilia, Karen and Camilla all wanted to win, i wish people would give her a break. Really hope they go all the way

I think Natalie is a great girl, full of fun and a good teacher. Quite inspiring to Scott as she was to Ricky last year. Go girl!

Did anyone else really NOT take to this pro last year?

Her comments today on DS have only annoyed me more. She came across, in my opinion, as smug, arrogant and generally fake and annoying. Gutted she returned frankly this year. Thought she might have gone the way of Hayley "dumped-by-text-message" Holt. Unfortunately not.”

Well, Pasohardly, you've used three words that definitely push my buttons:
"smug", "arrogant" and "fake" - which I will immediately apply to your OP. If you have such a negative opinion, couldn't you be less childish? We are only a few weeks into the competition.

Luckily there are so many people who see this dancer as hard-working, very likely to get her dancer into the final, and always a joy to watch when dancing, either with a pro or with a celeb amateur.

I hope to see her and Scott in the final this year.

Looks like this thread is too appreciative for the main board...

Mods perhaps this should be moved to the Appreciation section (in The Attic)?

Totally agree and I don`t know where this attention mememe label comes from.

I think she`s very like Erin in some ways, down to business and none of this giggly nonsense which has put me off a few of the female pros at times.
