Collect leftovers from cups of tea and store them in empty 2l bottles. Just microwave what you need at a later date.

I only use them on gammon, so when I open the tin, I wrap the other slices individually in foil and freeze them. It can be weeks between gammon meals, so leaving them in the fridge isn't an option.

Then when I need one, I defrost it in the microwave and grill as normal.

Never tried that. Will try to remember that next time I open a tin.

Buy food in bulk if you can, it will save you so much in the long run!

Iceland is your friend. Free delivery on £25 spend.

They sell 4 pints milk £1 and 2 x kingsmill loaves £1.50

I can recommend their scones, very fruity 12 for £1, 5 slices cooked meat for £1, cheap cereals in big boxes, great for kids cereals. Had own brand 8 choc mouses for £1 when I went in the other day.

Used to shop at Tesco but they are too pricey now.

Costco can be very good, especially for herbs & spices (big packs) trays of chopped toms etc are very good, you just have to kepp an eye open as some deals are cheaper in supermarkets

Buy a full joint and cut it yourself for steaks, chops, other etc.

I bought a full pork loin joint from Tesco for £3.99 the other day. I cut four chops off and battered them out for schitzel the other day. I cut out the eye of the meat for the scnitzel and put the outside layer in a marinate and cooked them off to have a kind of bbq rib.

I cut off another 3 chops last night and put them in the freezer and still have half of the joint left for Sunday dinner.

Great value!
