Bin Charged. See what I did there?

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-11375080

Mary Bale, of St Michael's Road, has been charged with causing unnecessary suffering to a cat and of not providing the animal with a suitable environment.
Love the bolded part. Very British!

Hope she gets thrown in the can. Sorry, OK, you do better.

I think she may be facing more charges soon:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-essex-11358962

Two crews arrived and found a woman comforting a young man "who had clearly had a good night out", a fire service spokesman said.

"How he got into the bin is a bit of a mystery, but he would still be there if the woman hadn't heard him," he added.

Did she keep her job?

I can't see the punishment being that severe.

Unnecessary. The furore over her actions will have been enough of a deterrent and, ultimately, it was quite a trivial thing that she did.

What a pathetic waste of time and money. This cat business makes me wonder if the country is losing its collective mind.

You'll be setting up a Facebook tribute age and saying she was a LEDGEND next!!

What this woman did was despicable, a lot of SERIAL KILLERS start off by harming defenceless animals, it is a well-known fact.

They are right to NIP IT IN THE BUD and prosecute her to the full extent of the law. Not least as an example to others that such behaviour isn't 'a joke'.

She's going down, mark my words.

It just pays too much attention to the media and the storms they create. We are in an age where reality is entertainment and there are plenty to lap it up no matter how trivial and mundane.

Big Brother
has a lot to answer for.

It makes you wish for the good ole days when cat torturing was not only allowed but encouraged. Or not.

This is scandalous. I can't see how she did any harm at all.

I was watching a TV programme just the other day where several cats live in the bins down an alley in New York and they seem perfectly happy.

They are regularly visited by a local police officer and all of them usually end up having a jolly jape.

And that the taxpayer has to fund this unnecessary action, no doubt.

Too many people are being tried for trivial offences, too many people are being sent to prison for trivial offences. It's not a good state of affairs.

Well even if you think animal cruelty is not worth the money to prosecute for then juist think that those who commit animal cruelty generally also abuse people as well so on those grounds then surely to you it was worth the money , she is now known and that may calm her down a bit.

I used to love that show. Benny The Ball was my favourite.

This poor woman has been through enough already.

What she did was wrong, no one disputes that.

She deserves sympathy and understanding not hatred.
