Freesat + install cost
Would £345 seem like a reasonable price for a freesat+ install using the Humax HDR?

[quote=REPASSAC;44235880]I would say that on a standard install I would not pay more than £299. The HDR has seen some retail discounting in recient weeks which is not reflected in the price you quote.[/QUOTE
Is that for dish (60cm in this area), bracket, 2 cables, ends, twin lnb, and HDR and labour? Whoever can make a profit out of that is on very thin margins, if any Last edited by excollier : 20-09-2010 at 18:59. Reason: more info |

I'd say £345 is a reasonable price, as long as the work is done to a good standard. Cut price installation can just mean more problems in the long run. Sky install prices are artificially low since they are more interested in tying you into a subscription than getting money up front.
You don't say whether you're getting the 320Gb or 500Gb version of the HDR but the cheapest prices listed on http://www.humaxfoxsat.co.uk/ for the machine alone are £210 and £285 respectively. |

Don't go for the twin, go for a quad, you can run the extra cables later, the price difference, if any, is trival.

Price isn't too bad with a Televes and Inverto LNB, plus the labour costs. If they are an independent, check that the HDR comes with a 2 year warranty; most opted for that.
Note that the recent price reductions have nothing to do with a drop in trade price, but a messy price match battle beginning with a mistake by one of the major retailers! Now they are stuck in a loop of selling at that price! |
