So Moffat has given us some teaser about the cliffhanger

Moffat promised that forthcoming episodes will contain revelations involving the Doctor's friendship with Amy Pond.

He teased: "You will see the Doctor's life change forever, you will gasp in astonishment at the true nature of his relationship with Amy

Spoiler

Could Amy really be the doctors daughter, jenny, who has regenerated, but for some reason dosnt remember him

I very much doubt it. And random speculation doesn't really need spoiler tags as it isn't actually a spoiler.

Amy's actually Jack Harkness and River Song's long-lost daughter, and the adoptive sister of Maria Jackson. She also
has Frobisher the Penguin as her godfather.

How do you put things in a spoiler tag?

I heard she was a female clone of Adric, created as a surrogate daughter by Romana and K9 to cement their partnership after the Time Lords refused to allow them to marry...

There is a S on top of your message box, that should bring up the spoiler tags. You post your spoilers in between those.

Thanks.

Can't find the "S" though!

It's at the opposite end of the line to the B for bold. Very pale, you can hardly see it.

Am I the only one who's going to get seriously bored if SM keeps telling us how "amazed" we're going to be by his cleverness?

No. And the more he tells us, the more doubtful I become that it's going to happen.

Yeah, what with RTD telling us "It delivers!" and "Hooray for me, Russell T!" all through his tenure, and now Moffat claiming we'll be "astonished"...can't the producers just leave the hype to the BBC promotional people?

it's no different to the sort of thing RTD used to say though, to be fair, they are hardly going to come out and say "guys this is going to be crap". Pat of their job is to promote the show. I don't see how you can criticise SM for saying the same sort of things as RTD did. It's not really fair.

In my case it's less criticisng one and not the other. I find it stupid when both do it, because it builds up too much expectation. One thing that is a real shame on the forum, it really seems as if we cannot criticise anything without bringing up the RTD/SM comparison straight away.

The difference in my post and the one above mine is I am not being critical of RTD, I am making a valid point, and that is that some forum members never had an issue with RTD bigging it up but suddenly SM does much the same and it's a bad thing. it is a totally fair point of comparison in this case.

whether one likes it or not show runners are duty bound to hype up the show.

Dunno. Did you get seriously bored with Davies telling us how fantastic, wonderful and brilliant everything was for five years?

It is weird that people immediately jump on an opinion of a current event, such as the latest "teasing" and then immediately refer to past events that have nothing to do with it. I didn't much care for RTD'S hyperbole (promotion is another matter and part of the job, but telling me how much I was going to like something smacks of arrogance) but at least it tended to be confined to immediately prior to and during the transmission window...this is the 2nd time now that SM has told me publicly how much his cliffhanger is going to make my jaw drop and we're still a year away from the resolution series and even 2 1/2 months away from the Christmas Special...I just don't understand why he's doing it.

I agree with you. When I said I was doubtful about Moff, it was more a comment on my cynicism than his abilities, but I'm cynical because I've been disappointed by RTD often enough, and I'm as much a RTD fan as a SM fan.

Yeah, they are both full of crap but amazingly talented. The big build ups get a little tiring but I get excited anyway. And then sometimes a little let down.

Thank you very much! I've found it! I wanted to put my theory in spoilers....just in case it turns out to be true!

Spoiler
If we are to get a shock at the true relationship of who exactly Amy is, I am going to say that she is infact River Song, especially as we are also going to find out who River is. This certainly would be a life changer for the Doctor, especially if Amy turns out to be a bit of a baddie....
