Ians blog....interesting snippet
Ian Waite has posted a blog on his website with dates he is dancing on Strictly but this bit was also in it Quote:
It's quite strange not preparing myself to take on the wonderful task of training a celebrity, but this is my seventh year and there is probably no better time to take a breather, have fun performing the show-dances and come back next year refreshed and raring to go!
This implies to me the thoughts that I have always thought which is that being in the dance troupe doesnt mean thats what you are always doing but that its revolving like they do on DWTS |

It would make sense that once gone it's not forever and it would be great if Ian was to return in future as I've always found him very entertaining. Has there been a pro previously who skipped a series? Karen Hardy perhaps? Or am I totally making that up.

Nicole Cutler was in series two but skipped series three and returned for series four and five.
I really hope this means some of the old pro's may return next year !!!!!!!!!!! |

Personnally I think a introducing new pros and rotation type system isn't such as a bad thing as Ian says they get a rest and hopefully the viewer will get to benefit from seeing some different approaches to the choreography from series to series. Plus they were all new once it could be that a fabulous new pro who would never otherwise have gotten the chance will come along and steal the viewers hearts. |

I thought that too, he's also hoping that the dance troupe dances will be show stoppers ![]() Quote:
The show dances this year are set to be just that: 'Show-stoppers'! We have been rehearsing really hard and can't wait for you all to see them, I'll give you all a special smile! Here's a list of the shows in which I'll be appearing (they're subject to change and more may be added) - make sure you tune in! Special smile Sunday 10th October Sunday 31st October Sunday 7th November Sunday 14th November Sunday 5th December Saturday 18th December

Perhaps she's taking a year out to concentrate on other things and will return next year? |

![]() Seems hopeful that Ian will come back and that's a very nice thought. Hope we see him on ITT this year? He seems to be a great bloke and I like his personality as much as his dancing Don't know about Lillia Bonnie, sorry. Hope it's not the last we've seen of her. |

Very interesting Jan, plus the new pros may not be a success in increasing the SCD audience which I'm sure the BBC are hoping for. Plus the 4 new pros in the dance troupe . I can't find any info on the BBC site about them . Who are they and where are they from? Are they eventually going to become full SCD dancers?

I wouldn't say DWTS is a good influence though. Every time I watch it I can't help but wonder how they get away with giving performances that only bear a passing resemblance to the dance they are supposed to be doing. If some of the so called viennese waltzes I shave seen on tonight's DWTS were done in our version Len would be slating them but over there it's severrrrns all round

![]() And the BBC says info on the dance troupe dancers will be up next week. I don't believe they can say that any of them are guaranteed to return next year, or the new ones to become competing pros, because contracts aren't drafted until spring, and it would be entirely unfair to have guaranteed them jobs already when this year's competing pros haven't even started dancing yet! |

*fingers crossed*
I suppose the one thing in Ian and maybe Matthews favour is their height, so I think it will all depend on which celebraties they get for next year. Lets face it, Penny, Jade & Jodie could not have gone to anyone else.
