Was just wondering what scenes from Doctor Who are amongst your favourites. The scenes which even if you don't like the whole story or episode, you just sit there and watch it because it's so damn funny or really tearful or just really dramatic, perhaps a combination of all three!!!!

It's those sorts of scenes you could watch over and over again and never ever get bored of. My favourite one is still from City Of Death where The Doctor first meets Scarlioni, it has to be the wittiest scene ever!!!!

Other scenes I enjoy, are Rose's Last regular scene in Doomsday, so tearful it even made my cold as ice ex cry!!! Lol!!!! The Dalek/Cyberman first ever meeting and off course, Tom Baker's regeneration into Peter Davison.

I have loads more but those are my main ones. What's yours?

The Runaway Bride - The Doctor is trying to persuade Donna to jump from the cab on the motorway

Donna:
"I can't do it"
The Doctor: "Trust me"
Donna:"Is that what you said to her? Your friend? The one you lost? Did she trust you??
The Doctor: "Yes she did. And she is not dead, she is so alive!! Now Jump!"

Great dialogue accompanied by probably my favourite music score from Murray Gold too.

My favorite scene from the classic series:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=10jFdq_0THQ

because it still spooks me out!

post 2005:

because it sums up in a few lines the enduring appeal of Doctor Who down the years.

No problem.

Can't find my favourite scene on YouTube.

Basically from classic and new and all the big finish, my favourite parts always involve Davros, I love him. Think of an angry Davros rant and you have my favourite scene.

depends on who is playing Davros for me...Michael Wisher and Julian Bleach were both great.

Still think Michael Wisher was the best Davros but my fave rant was his one from Ressurrection Of The Daleks, the one at the end of part 3 with Dirty Den in the background!!!!

Oh that was amazing. Love it.

Julian Bleach did a fantastic job too. He really got the anger right.

Yes, he sort of got his performance inbetween Wisher and Molloy's I thought.

I'm going to bed, about an hour before I'd normally consider it. With a cup of tea and a davros audio. Excited now!

For me, it has to be the scene from the end of The Pandorica Opens. The music*: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TjzWmgqoJz4 (1 min 43 in) accompanies the scene wonderfully in my opinion . It didn't even leave me excited for The Big Bang because (I remember someone else saying as well) it could have been the end of the series or indeed the show. The Doctor trapped inside the Pandorica, Amy dead, Rory an Auton and River trapped inside the TARDIS - which is about to explode. And as we zoom out, we see a load of different explosions across the whole of empty, star-less space. The screen slowly blackens as the Earth begins to fade out of existence. Wonderful

* couldn't find the actual episode clip, so I thought I would provide my favourite of Murray's amazing music

Thats my favorite scene in series 5, closely followed by the starry starry night scene in vincent.

In both cases the music is a big part of what makes the scenes so special...

I loved the starry night scene too and you're spot about the music. When the Doctor was dragged towards the Pandorica, I actually thought at first it was classical music playing - I thought it was just that good. I truly do think that Doctor Who has been blessed with some of, if not the best music used in a TV show. I can't imagine any other show getting 2 CDs worth of music from 5 episodes Murray Gold is a legend

But I completely agree, it is the music that just makes the scene complete and I am really glad that the show does use the music in the way it does - despite complaints from some who think the music should be reduced or taken away

Or be played at rather lower volume by comparison with the dialogue!

It's sometimes difficult to pick out individual scenes, even from great stories, but I would pick out;

The Doctor asking Davros a hypothetical question about exterminating all life in Genesis of the Daleks and his rant in reply.

Tegan's confrontation with the Mara in "the dark places of the mind".

Nyssa dropping her skirt (sorry, couldn't leave that one out! )

Dr Constantine's transformation in The Empty Child

Toby and the voice behind him in The Satan Pit

The possessed Ood chanting out the Beast's words in The Satan Pit

Vincent van Gogh in the art gallery

in both scenes mentioned there is no dialogue though, so not really applicable in this case.

Dr Constantine's transformation in The Empty Child is a cool moment. I love the contrast between the horror it makes the audience feel and the sadness it causes in The Doctor...

This is my favourite scene of NuWho when Jack stops being the conman and becomes the hero.

that was in my top 10 moments of the RTD era video, iirc. I love that scene, it's really touching and poignant, especially retrospectively when you know what comes afterwards....

Muttley's choices!

But I was going to say the Doctor explaining transcendentally dimensional objects to Leela. He's so full of it - what a guy. Father Ted had a good grasp of the same mechanics. Dougal was no Leela.

Don't dare blaspheme the Nimon!

Well that and the Sir Derek Jacobi Master reveal scene I guess. Maybe the cliffhanger to The Daemons 3 or the Fifth to Sixth regeneration sequence as well.

I could be listing all night.

Best emotional scene: In Journey's End, Donna's exit was nothing but loss and Tate was fantastic here. It was so final, and emotional. 'The Doctor-Donna' line gets me, and it remains my favourite scene of the entire show, even if it is all for the wrong reasons....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ophjc...eature=related

Best shocking scene: When Donna screams in Silence in the Library and then appears on the Node. It seemed very dark, and uncensored- may sound daft, but Im sure a showlike Dr Who has to be careful when including scream, as it cannot be too traumatic for the child audience...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FgWgqAqG6Wc

Best Villain Scene: This is a hard one, but upon rewatching the whole 2005-2010 run, this feels like the most epic reveal of all. Simply awesome, and I shamefully have a thing for god complexes....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XP3Volxvi44

Best Companion Scene: see above...the bit with Rose destroying the daleks near the end, just ignore the 'think you need a Doctor line' :P

Best Scary Scene: Dr Constantines transformation was quite a dark aspect of the show, and for me remains unrivalled.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2CFSyHBVxDQ

Best Happy Scene: so away from the doom and gloom of it all, there was this. Screw it if you are not a sucker for the sentimentality here. After this, things got pretty bad for everyone...Sarah Jane had her marriage issues, Torchwood got destroyed and the Doctor was set to die. Not to mention the fact of Donna's 'death' which brings me full circle....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=107YIlyQnQ4

Notable mentions to...

- The YANA revelation in Utopia

- Jackie talks to Elton about 'those who get left behind' in Love and Monsters, an episode I didn't like but this was absolute gold and a highlight of the rather generic Series 2.

- The scenes of New New York at the end of Gridlock were impressive just in terms of spectacle.

Oh this is so hard....I love many of the scenes already mentioned!!!! But if I had to pick one...yes just one....then it will have to be the hug in Midnight......no words no nothing....just two best friends, hugging and speaking volumes!!!!!! That is what kills it for me even now, knowing that the Doctor never got a similar hug like that again that he so needed during the specials!!! And the fact that now Donna has ni idea that she was once there for the Doctor when he needed her most to believe in humanity again!!!!

I think the scene I like most from Midnight is where The Doctor and Sky are talking exactly at the same time. I watched this episode with my sister(my real sister Crazzy!) at the time and we both came away thinking what a great bit of acting that was that both managed to keep so perfectly in sync.
