To pick just one that hasn't been mentioned yet: Ace versus Dalek.

EDIT: Oh! And the best of the Caves of Androzani cliffhangers. Here:

Actually, i forgot to add this little scene from The Eleventh Hour in my orginal posting. It's the second bit, short but sweet and I love it for it's pure comedy genius!!!!!

To be honest, the Eleventh Hour is nothing but potential best scenes. Brilliance from start to end.

EDIT: oh, sorry, another contender following on from the clip already posted — the Doctor saying 'no':

Yes, but it's annoying to continually have to turn it up to hear dialogue then down to keep the music to a tolerable volume.

It is a shame the first part of that clip didn't carry on just a few seconds more because my favourite part of that scene, heck that entire episode is when The Doctor sadly rests his head against the inner door of the TARDIS as the Daleks repeatedly fire against the shield on the other side.

Such a great simple moment yet reveals so much about The Doctor.
You can tell he's thinking
"My god, they're back. I sacrificed so much, destroyed everything I cared about to destroy them and until now I thought it was worth it.
But they're back, now I think I regret it.."

A brilliant piece of writing, directing and acting just for that tiny 5-second moment.

My favourite scene overall has to be the sheer shock of the Dalek reveal at the end of Army of Ghosts (DALEKS! CYBERMEN! SAME PLACE! SURELY NOT!!!??? )
but I'd prefer to mention some more of the "little" moments that stick with you.
Like the "I'm OK too" scene at the end of Forest of the Dead
or the "Doc....Torrrrrrr" reveal in Dalek...
A stunning way of revealing their return.

And it might not be one of the best episodes but the very beginning of "Fear Her" (*Tardis Lands* "Ah!" *Tardis repositions") has to be one of my funniest moments in Doctor Who history!

Personally, i have never ever had to do that once, i think your rather exaggerating there. Continently? Really? Very much doubt it.

the parting of the ways. rose arriving in the tardis, destroying the daleks, restoring jack and dear chris eccleston saving her at the cost of one of his regenerations. beautifully done by all concerned - acting, writing, effects, music. great.

That is a good scene actually, just the sort of cliffhanger that was missing from Series 5(but that's for another thread!)

Mine always used to be Christopher Eccleston's regeneration, I loved the way that although he was dying it was kind of uplifting, it was "fantastic"

Now however it has to be one of the last scenes from The Eleventh Hour, the Doctor standing on the roof, talking to the Atraxi trying out different clothes, and the montage of all ten Doctor's, I just love the way he walks through the bubble, fully clothed with the words "I'm the Doctor, basically run" like he's not only saying it to the Atraxi, but the world as well. It also has Murray's I am the Doctor theme, which is my new favourite.

I've just read through this post and every scene mentioned I've thought "yes, that's one of the best ones". How on Earth (or off it) do you choose?

But after watching the Journey's End vid, I'd have to say - maybe that's my favourite.

And actually, anything with the Ood songs. They are so beautiful.

Another scene from that story which must have been great at the time was the revelation that someoneone else apart from The Doctor had a TARDIS. Just think how you would have felt at the time at that particular revelation!!!!! It would stick in your memory I think!

I wasn't really referring to any scenes with dialouge, I was referring to how I have heard people voice their dislike for the use of the music in general.

That is what kills it for me even now, knowing that the Doctor never got a similar hug like that again that he so needed during the specials!!! And the fact that now Donna has ni idea that she was once there for the Doctor when he needed her most to believe in humanity again!!!!”

I love that scene too I was going to mention it in my other post as well, but I forgot

In what episodes? I ask because, personally, I have never had to do that ever, with the exception of Victory of the Daleks which had a couple of scenes where the dialouge was quieter, but I could still make out what they were saying perfectly.

Never had an issue with it either...I think this forum is the only place I have seen it mentioned. I went back through some episodes listening out for the supposed drowned out dialouge and yes, the music was loud, but that was because it was an action/exciting scene

Watching it again; at 01:24, could that be the only time in all Who that a Dalek has been given a reaction shot?

Can't remember this episode name off the top of my head but
the scene were The Doctor and Donna are miming through the window and the door at each other makes me laugh hysterically.

Also quite a lot of scenes from The Sound Of Drums/Last Of The Timelord
End Of Time Part 1 &2 I love
its just something about John Simms and David Tennant acting together and the fact they both play their characters really well
but key favourites are

The Sound of Drums/Last of the Timelords
The Gassing Scene, more so the whole "this is funny" *big grin* "this isn't" *masive put
makes me
lol

The Doctor being strapped onto the boar and wheeled down the stairs
The Scene with Wilf and The Doctor in the cafe.

WILL EDIT THIS WHEN I GET HOME

Call that a reaction?!!!!

You could be right, there's too many Dalek stories to look back over to prove if that's an accurate statement or not!!!

I have watched with subtitles on sometimes. In some episodes I did think the speech/music balance was poor. I don't say I couldn't actually hear the dialogue, but I was afraid I'd miss something

Yes, it was great to think there were other time travellers out there, and that the doctor might be meeting some of them.

I'm glad you enjoyed it!!!

That was the only disappintment from watching that story for the first time, you sort of already knew who The Monk was so it was no great surprise. Would love to have been surprised by that for real, it was like have spoilers about it in advance!!!!

Well, not every episode is as bad, but in the worst-affected episodes, like The Eleventh Hour, yes, it really is continual.

A lot of people seem to love that scene, and I'll never understand why. I thought it was one of the worst scenes ever!

But is an action/exciting scene enhanced by being deafened while you're watching it?
