I heard that a lot on facebook. Could it be a region thing? I watched on BBC HD and it was perfect, never knew what the problem was.

Nooo! How can you say that! Haha. It was amazing. Such good acting and the fact she ad libbed a lot was just fantastic.

There are several for me. I did love the Doctor and Donna's mimed conversation to each other when they came face-to-face (through windows) in Partners in Crime. Very funny scene.

I also loved the scene in School Reunion where the Doctor meets Sarah Jane again for the first time, and she doesn't know who he is.

That said, I also loved the scene where Davros recognised Sarah Jane in Journey's End. It genuinely sent a shiver down my spine!

good for you, Sarah Jane Smith. I love that line.

And yes, when Davros recognises Sarah Jane was amazing. It made it all so linked and complete.

Best Scary Scene: Dr Constantines transformation was quite a dark aspect of the show, and for me remains unrivalled.

Best Happy Scene: so away from the doom and gloom of it all, there was this. Screw it if you are not a sucker for the sentimentality here. After this, things got pretty bad for everyone...Sarah Jane had her marriage issues, Torchwood got destroyed and the Doctor was set to die. Not to mention the fact of Donna's 'death' which brings me full circle....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=107YIlyQnQ4

Notable mentions to...

- The YANA revelation in Utopia

- Jackie talks to Elton about 'those who get left behind' in Love and Monsters, an episode I didn't like but this was absolute gold and a highlight of the rather generic Series 2.

- The scenes of New New York at the end of Gridlock were impressive just in terms of spectacle.”

Gotta agree with all of these.

Best scary scene though was the crowd throwing the Doctor out of the ship in Midnight.

But overall, the one that will stay with me forever, which I think will be hard to surpass for me is Donna's exit in Journey's End.

Classic Series-wise, I think my favourite scene may be the one from "The Happiness Patrol" where Helen A discovers the dying Fifi... I know it can be viewed as a load of old tosh but Doctor Who works best when suspending disbelief, doesn't it? The incidental music and the camera work combine to produce a very powerful and touching moment. Sheila Hancock, allegedly, wasn't an animal lover but she made me believe a lump of skanky latex was her beloved friend.

New Series-wise, when Davros provides the Tenth Doctor with a few flashbacks of the lovely people who've died because he appeared in their lives is a moving moment for me.

The problem with this kind of thread is that, since 1963, Doctor Who has come up with a constant string of "magic moments"!

Yes - even choosing one per Doctor is incredibly difficult.

No idea; I can only say it as it was for me.

To me it was just a long sequence of two people gurning at each other. But so many people love it I suppose I must accept that there was just something about it that passed me by.

Cliffhanger 2 of Brain of Morbius

A blind Sarah blunders into a greenlit cellar. Morbius in his green yuck filled tank starts ranting

"WHO ARE YOU? WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE? WHO SENT YOU? WAS IT THE TIMELORDS?"

Cut to zing of the cliffhanger..

Very creepy

Just a few, the first that come to mind.

The entire second half of Utopia, from The Doctor and Cpt jack talking through the door of the radiation chamber (great dialogue) to the whole Yana, Martha seeing the professors fob watch (it's the firickin Mastuuur) well the whole lot really, never has Who had me on the edge of my seat with my jaw open so much as that episode did.

Donna's circle of mirrors speech in Turn Left. Stunning acting and dialogue. And the music change when she realises she will die is spine tingling.

Aslo in Turn Left, the short scene where Donna talks to her Mother. The camera is focused on the Mothers face whist Donna speaks, sombre funeral parlour plays as incidental music. THE darkest and most desperate moment in all of Who for me and all done with beautiful dialogue, a single shot and haunting acting from both the actors.

Lynda with a 'y' death. The Dalek outside the window, the lights flash on it's head, we cant hear it but we know what it has just said.

The silent pod 'escape' scene in 42. Who goes all Kubrick

The Doctor's 'punishments/saves' in The Family Of Blood.

Vincent Van Goch goes to the future.

Rose's 'Your My Daddy' in Fathers Day, sorry gets me every time.

Willaim Hartnells Doctor, as the soldiers run back he steps forward. The War Machines.

Again Hartnell in The Space Museum. The Doctor gets interrogated, a rather sinister Hartnell moment, lovely lit and acted scene.

The Doctor, whilst strapped to that uncomfortably looking chair' winks back at the Master in The End Of Time.

I agree with all the scenes mentioned in this thread (you can see I'm easily pleased)

But the winking scene in TEoT, and then the Doctor saying "you didn't think I'd leave my best friend unprotected did you?" brings a lump to my throat just thinking about it.

To add my 2-pennorth to the loudness of the music debate I do sometimes watch DW with subtitles on, which I don't do for other programmes.

Possibly partly because I want to be sure I don't miss anything vital

Autons attacking London in Spearhead from Space, Cybermen invading London in The Invasion, Sea Devils rising out of the sea for the first time, Marshmen rising from the swamp in Full Circle...all absolutely classic and truly terrifying moments...

Love all the suggestions on here so far and enjoying Classic Who reminders.

For Nu Who I really was jaw dropping amazed when Jack revealed this nugget about The Face of Bo.

Both these scenes I felt a little tingle goes down my back, both of them were really magical moments but the Davros one was better because that sort of thing is very rare in Doctor Who, a companion who was in the show 30 odd years ago meeting an adversary she or he faced. All we need now is Jo Grant to met The Master in the SJA adventures!! Now that would be fun!!!!

ClassicWho: This scene in which Tom Baker in Genesis ponders is it right to wipe out the Daleks.

NuWho: This scene with Captain Jack.

Also from NuWho: DT's last scene.

I am SO dull when it comes to these "favourite..." threads, I really need to get re-re-re watching and pluck more obscure things to discuss...sadly, I have to plump for the "Do I have the right?" speech from GotD and running in a close second the "You will tell me!" scene with Davros from the same story - terrifying turn by Michael Wisher.

That is one of my favourite cliffhangers from Classic Who, it's right up there with the Davros rant from Ressurrection, my fave one of all Davros's as I said in a previous post.

Either:
River's 'death' in Forest of the Dead
clicky

Or:
Tim's description of the Doctor in Family of Blood
clicky

Favourite 3 seconds:
The Doctor's expression immediately beofre telling Rory 'sorry' for the phone bill in The Eleventh Hour

the dalek - cybermen confrontation!

Who knew Daleks and Cybermen had a sense of humour with jokes about aesthetics and cybermen being better at dying - sarcastic, arrogant daleks rock!

In the new series it's too hard to choose but Ecclestone was brilliant when locked in the room with the damaged dalek and when he realised they had survived the time war later on in series 1.

The fate of the DoctorDonna was possibly DT's best performance and Tate was superb as always.

Bernard Cribbins in the Turn Left scene when the truck was taking the family to the "work camp" - an exceptional scene for any tv drama (which DW isn't strictly - it's firmly a family show). In fact the last one is probably the best single dramatic scene of the new series for me.

For me, because it has me in tears every time, I initially through it is Bad Wold Bay and the 'final' farewell.

And then I think of the final brilliantly acted moments of 'DoctorDonna'

And then I have to think of Fish Fingers and Custard, and 'Your Scottish, Fry Something' otherwise I would stay maudlin for days.

So, guess what? I think that the Proms 2010 Dr Who Special is actually the most special moment. 90 minutes of superb memories that enthral and enchant and during which, at no point ever, is the music too loud , so that is what I am proposing. Proms 2008 Dr Who Extended Special.

That is how good Dr WHo is. It gets its own Prom.
