I'm a big Elton John fan but have never seen him live. So i was excited to hear that he was playing the bbc electric proms.

So I was on PC from 8:55 this mornign furiously attempting to get tickets along side the no doubt tens of thousands doing the same. I wasn't really expecting to get through however I did get to the page which asked for my details and card number. So I filled them all in with 30 seconds and pressed ok and . . . . . .. .got a message telling me my order had 'timed out' : - (

Really disappointed - it wouldn't be that bad as he usually plays a few UK concerts now however the normal price is about £80. As I don't know any other Elton John fans I'm a bit wary about paying that to go on my own.

You shouldn't worry about going to any shows on your own, tons of people do. If there's an artist I like but none of my friends like them it doesn't stop me going to see them anyway. I hope Elton announces some concert dates and that you manage to get a ticket.

I like Elton too, great artist. I've seen him live just the once, at a charity concert at the Old Vic Theatre in 2003. Was brilliant, although poor Elton had a stinking cold that night and really struggled to perform. At least he did his best though. I'd love to see him again sometime.

My sister saw him in Manchester a few years ago now. She said it was fantastic.

That's a pity. I'm sure he will be doing more shows within the next few years. He was one of those artists that I didn't think I would get to see either. When I was living in Wales, he did a concert in Margam Park and sadly I was going away on holiday so couldn't go. However, I got to see him in 2005.

£80 for a ticket would have seemed a bit steep to me a few years ago but then again I paid well over £90 to see Madonna at Earl's Court in 2004.

Am watching my Elton dvd of him performing in New York about 8 years ago now. It's brilliant.
