Holier than thou, Bono's charity only gives away 1% of it's takings
Reported figures show that in 2008 the charity raised £9.6million. They also show that only £118,000 of that actually went to charities, and to make matters worse it was divided into three separate charities.
£5million went on salaries for the charities executives. I assume the rest was expenses... perhaps in flying these execs first class ![]() Out of the 120 employees, that would be an average salary of £42,500... for CHARITY work, and that's just an average as well. I'd assume some people - probably the aid workers - get very little whereas the top exec get the majority share. I know other charities have similar systems where they pay execs loads, but this is shocking from a charity which moans at others for not giving. http://www.dailyexpress.co.uk/posts/...-good-causes-/ Now, if you're as high profile as Bono and want to work with charities, don't let your executives get most of the money! He moans at rich nations for not supporting such charities, yet this happens. What a con! More links here if you don't trust the Express. |
